B2B 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Hi, Just place a $100 dollar deposit at Species (Furniture Mall) today - $5988 inclusive of 1 Marbler Dining Table with 4 chairs, TV Console, 4 Seater Sofa + Ottoman , 1coffee table. Anyone have experience with them? Please advise. Thank. Honestly, I think their sofas and furniture are way over priced. Just like Furniture Club, they are middlemen who buys from various suppliers in China. They are not manufacturers so their mark up is very high. Servicing and replacement is also difficult, as you can read from other threads in this forum since it is unlikely they will send the defective sofa/furniture back to China or replace you with a new one anytime soon. The actual pieces being different from their showroom sample is also common since they do not manufacture in volume. Their retail presence is also very small and do not have any retail outlets outside Singapore. This means they can take a long while to consolidate a 40 foot container. Hence, you can expect delays in your delivery. Small time retailers without factories(or fixed assets) also pose a higher risks - since they can easily close their limited liability company anytime and does not have any obligations to refund you your deposits.
