Jalan Besar - Sinks, Taps And Etc

Recommended Posts

My experience is different from the rest...

Everyone here recommend PS, I went there, boss is friendly and very knowledgeable, keep bla bla bla bla bla non-stop, ok I guess he's being friendly.

I asked for hood, sink, heater, drawer basket, all items he quoted me once and keep sticking to the price and never care to discount a single cents...saying the price is nett, very good, they order from factory direct... bla bla bla... Since I'm not in hurry and forget to bring my cheque book, oh yeah, no credit card payment too, so intend to go back next day (Sunday).

Since going to PS I need to pass by Poh Joo, so I drop by and check the prices... Oh! Luckily I forget to bring my cheque book yesterday and today I got a real bargain and now no need cheque book! Can pay by credit card without extra charges. For the same Stainless steel pull-out basket, same brand, same model, same design, same....., PJ is selling $15 cheaper then PS, the hood I also get lower. And to my pleasant surprise, the boss also give me a final discount of the total amount! UNlike PS, die die cannot even less a single cent!

yap...friendly before sale but after service was totally diffferent. I have bad experience with them regarding product exchange due to defective item delivered. There was many ting tong and endup they called the supplier to call me and from there I liased directly to the supplier and got the product exchanged the next day.

The above was just solely my experience with them and may/may not happen on you so I wish u good luck !

Dear all, I would like to share a very unfortunate experience of mine. I bought my kitchen sink from poh seng hardware at jalan besar. The boss assured us twice that his sinks are made of statinless steel. one week after the installation of the sink, it started to rust (please refer to photos). We went back to look for the boss to tell him about the rust. Instead of giving a solution, he raised his voice at us claiming that there is nothing wrong with his sink and we should blame HDB for the "extra ingredients" in the water.
But my question is, isn't my sink made of stainless steel, if so, why the rust?
we also noticed that my master room basin starts to rust as well. I'm surprised that the HDB sink is of a better quality than poh seng. just for sharing, do get the sales person to state in black and white that you are getting a stainless steel sink. so that when something is wrong, at least there's proof. i have spent 1000 with poh seng and now im worried bout the rest of my stuffs.
We tried autosol and CIF but doesn't really help much.

Unless u want to be stuck with a rusty kitchen sink, DO THINK TWICE before purchasing there.

Stainless Steel comes in different grades.

Those cutlery from IKEA supposedly made of stainless steel also rust ...

I was shopping for faucets yesterday also, went into Poh Seng first, the prices are indeed very good, cheapest of the lot, but can't say the same for service, the staff kept hovering around like a demeter when the walkway is so narrow and after I told him to let me browse without him. I decided to walk out when he persisted.

Went over next door to G-something, the lady is quite friendly and she gave some really helpful suggestions though the prices are higher than Poh Seng for the same/similar item, I should be getting from her though despite the slightly higher prices.

Also went to Hoe Kee and Haniffa, their prices are very Swiss standard....
