misswookie 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 I bought them from Ikea!!! Its on the 1st level near where all the bins, magnectic boards, storage boxes are located. I LOVE Ikea!! Would have gotten the Kramfors sofa from there - cheap and comfy - if it hasn't already been discontinued. Found out when hubby and I went to Ikea some weeks ago. It was a sad, sad, sad day. And thanks for all the advice on laminates, very very useful. We intend to use white, in fact hubby wants it pure white, but in light of what you said we should really go look at the laminates in person before setting things in stone. Unfortunately our contractor is quite clueless on thicker laminates so we'll have to decide which brand to use and tell him to get it. Oh yah, his carpenter seems unwilling to use thicker laminates. He said he doesn't have the right machinery to cut the thick laminates properly so edges may not be nice. Sounds like bs to me, but anyway that's another hurdle that we'll have to cross later. Best is to go look at the laminates. Some of the companies (I think Lamitak) might give you a bigger laminate to have a better idea of the final product. Thicker laminate means more cost for the contractor & less profit for them. So if you have already confirm the pricing, contractors generally do not wish to offer a thicker laminate. Generally the quality of laminates are the same from different companies for the same thickness. Difference will come later in the skill of the carpenter. I can never have your open concept kitchen as mummy is a "heavy" user. rather contain the "gease" in one place than have it all over the place! BTW, can I have Dennis contact? but the blog/ forum dummy me do not know how to PM you. Can you teach me how to? I hope my this entry will be posted! hiaz.... Hope to be able to catch up at P@D!
