ngunadi 2 Report post Posted January 15, 2010 What are the pros and cons? Initially, I'm thinking to get Front-Load Washing Machine because (1) save water (2) cleaner. But some people said that Front-load uses more electricity and takes longer to wash (2 hours). Then I see many reno-forumers use top-load washing machine also. What are your thoughts? What are your thoughts? i think its personal preference altogether but, from my own point of view I prefer top loading machine because front loaders are troublesome to me and theres a rim of rubber in front loaders that gets loosen after probably a year of washing and mould will appear in due time. On top of that, top loaders dry yr clothes better than front loaders.
Supersimon27 2 Report post Posted January 16, 2010 Actually Top load cheaper but use more water less electricity . Front load look nicer (to me) more expensive but use less water but more electricity If got old pp , not advice to get front load, cos need to bend down. cromodora 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2010 Biggest advantage of front loader is that it is gentler on clothes. The washing action is a tumbling one instead of twisting. All that twisting in a top loader stretches fabric. Cotton T-shirts visibly suffer most at the hands of a top loader's agitator. Collars gets stretched, hems get wavy and shirts lose shape. Ah .. if this the case. I might get the front-load machine. Though the western-brand price puts me off. Maybe i should bet on Samsung top-load.
