if open concept, built glass door?

Westerners' got 4 sides open, can make only salad & mix drinks, bread + kaya within kitchen. Can imaging if fry fish/veg? Singaporeans' most likely to be "1 side open" only, not so bad.

- As I've written earlier, "open concept kitchen" is for "making salad, cutting tomato, plaster kaya onto bread, making instant cup noodle ".

- No gas cooking, all electric lah, microwave oven, built-in oven, electric-induction cooker, .......

- If you insist on "open concept" and insist on gas cooking/frying/steaming, then be standby to face : floor sticky sticky, sofa/cloth smelly smelly, furnitures/lightning oily oily.......

I also bought a place with open concept kitchen. I plan to reno and put fixed glass panel and glass door. At least cooking, can close door. I dunno, but put back wall like a bit funny.

glass panel will help make the house look more spacious. unless u have a very generous living, putting back the wall will only make it look cramped

1. I have a 10mm thickness, tampered glass, 25sqft cost me $350 last yr.

2. 10mm thickness, tempered glass, 2-pieces top-hung sliding, door width = 44 inch, cost $650. I'm particular about kitchen entrance, must be "big enough"-originally requested for 48 inches, but the 2-pc door cannot be retracted fully, so choice give some "discount" from 48 to 44 inch.

Personal note: A small entrance make ppl feel "cramp" esp when more ppl in/out kitchen - give ppls a "stingy" feeling.

can take picture of your kitchen with glass door. may be i too fussy as i first time engaged painter to paint house and chemical washing but they never paint properly, never using chemical washing for whole flat, cheated $200. It is like kena cheated by those indian painters, worst steal my hp notebook bag. I have bad experienced with beng tuan trading furniture shop, painter etc. open concept kitchen is no good.

now floor is very very sticky, i need to find a solution.

I think for mine, will be twice yours for the kitchen door. I think my glass panels will have to be about 5ft each. 1 fixed and 1 top-hung sliding. But 5ft like very big. But ID say it's ok. He quoted me $1.4. Is it ex? My kitchen wall to wall about 12ft.
