I still want to see how the cable is covered,

cos, i use some lighting in the cabinet too,

but i am not realy sure what kind of cover they will use.

For the table, it will be better to put a glass on top of the wooden table.

Maintainance wise, it will be much more easy.

Nice to know your reno almost done.

Can't wait till the end of the month :P

The cables would be covered with pvc casing. It's the same type of casing used to cover other electrical parts.

For table, we already get wooden table. Still thinking whether to put tempered glass on top or not. But wooden table looks very classy :P

PS: my reno done already, i have been staying inside. Now is just touching up period.

Dining table + chairs

I realized the problem with the dining table + chairs is the chairs. The finishing of the chairs are not exactly smooth. When holding the chairs, there are parts of the woods are very rough, similar to the wood splinter.

Maybe need to use sandpaper to smoothen it.

I think they will use the same one like yours.

I am a little bit concern because my lamp is single round one from ikea.

It is not concealed behind the "L-box" like yours.

It means your reno took 1 month only? so fast :good:

I know which one :P

Initially, I bought IKEA GRUNDTAL series which has 3 disjoint spotlights. In the end, I returned that to them because it's not suitable. It's using halogen light and produces yellow light. For counter top, it's better to use daylight bulb so you can see the color of the food correctly.

My marble floor came from original only :P :P

My MBR Toilet Tap issue is resolved !! So happy.

Few days ago, I gave a call to my contractor. I ask her if I buy a new tap, can she help to install for me. I told her because the tap water debit is so low and it's so upsetting.

Then she told me not to waste any money. The debit is low because there is water filter that supposed to make it water efficient.

So, she told me I could just took that filter out and everything will be fine. She would ask her worker how to do that.

Before she told me, I was already itchy hand and opened up the "mouth" of the tap.

I saw there are 2 plastic water filter, 1 with big holes and 1 with small holes.

I removed the filter with small holes then put the rest back in.

And the water debit now makes me happy :D No need to spend money also.

Modifying a bookshelf

As mentioned before, my aircon trunking is **** horribly big. It gives some problem to my IKEA Billy bookshelf.

Is it possible and advisable to cut/trim some parts so i will fit to the trunking?

Here is the picture ...

If you only cut some part, and it will still have gap,

i dont think it will look nice too.

Don't you have any alternative place for your bookshelf?

Other solution is move the trunking to top of the wall,

(cmiiw, the Billy height will not reach the ceiling, right?)

Sure can cut. I feel it wouldn't make much difference in term of look though.

I wouldn't recommend moving the trunking to the top. If we can, we should avoid exposing the trunking, especially air con trunking as it is very thick and more obvious if u move to the top.

I would recommend making a false wall to 'flush' the wall with the air con trunking if budget allows.

Erm ... for Billy bookcase, actually i have the top extension also. And reno has finished so I don't think i want to move the trunking.

I am thinking to cut it so at least, the bookshelf can move a little bit behind. and not wasting too much space.

I could put the bookshelf in another locations but it's sub-optimum. The current place is the best. I am tempted to try my hand and trim the bookshelf :D
