purecat 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) 016 Our Existing 4 Room Flat in JE We are going to miss our current flat. It is very squarish as well and looks big though only 103 sq m. On day of open house, there were alot of interested parties ( majority PR ). However the lift upgrading costs will not be billed until completion. Hence it is likely whoever who buy our flat will have to pay these fees. That will get the PRs worried because it will be very expensive. Tip : To check for the estimated billing date of Lift Upgrade, click here. If the block you like isnt listed here, it is expected that within 3 months you wont get a bill. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10328p.nsf/w/...PP?OpenDocument There were 3 firm offers and we went for the 3rd which is closest to our original intended selling price ( diff $1k ) Two more family still come by after we " sold " the unit. Had I know our area is so popular, maybe I would have asked for $50k COV which is the current offer if you source my area now . ( Basis the phamplet ads lately ) I understand from my agent that JW market quite a few stretch of blocks are no longer eligible for PRs . Hence that will further jerk up the price of JE . Living Room + Altar & Dining Room View Living Room ( Built in Shoe Cabinet ) & Tiny " Display Cabinet " dividing the Living and the bedrooms Living Room ( View standing from Altar area ). We will be bringing over our Zen Sofa but adding another two seater. Dining Area ( Gymsum Board to patch up the " hole " next to the wall to become a display section ) Jialet wonder where to put our crystals displays since we dont have this sort of " built in display walls in upcoming flat ? purecat 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 This one is very simple. As long as you have the drill, you can do it yourself also ... maybe that's why he didn't bother to put in the quote. thats true, we also have the drill but will be a hassle to do it ourselves.. heehee... so i will nag him to do it if possible . purecat 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2010 (edited) Some thoughts... We went to our place just now. I am pleased that I've chosen clear glass (always prefer them clear, makes the room brighter ) Maybe abit into fengshui... a house needs to be bright to bring in the good energy ? More importantly I hope to keep the same cosy feeling friends felt whenever they come into my 4 room flat. At 7pm, the house, though no lights, can still rely on the " neighbourhood lightings " to allow our late visit. The walls & ceilings were all "screened" or do you call them plastered ? They will receive their first base coat this weekend. All floor tiles were completed, only left with skirtings for two common bedrooms. For some reason, the rooms actually look bigger with all the white tiles heehee... wonders of the colour chosen i think. Tomorrow the plumbing may start instead of next week. The electrican will come in to put up some of the wiring as well. We also check by Chelsea Lightings for the additional 2 lights, plus a change of one of the altar light into LED light making it 3. So now damages is at $1700 for the lights instead. Looking forward to the delivery of some of the ordered stuff : BathRoom Accessories, Kitchen Hob & Hood, lightings this saturday. For some reason today feel like friday... but haiz.. one more day to go. Will take some pics over the weekend. Edited April 22, 2010 by purecat

purecat 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 Status as at today 3 May : All rooms already had their first layer of base paint ( oil base for walls n ceilings ) last week. Today they receive their first layer of colour paint. For a day's work...am pretty amazed this paint guy is so quick ! Understand from the same guy that there will be a 2nd layer after the place is cleaned up. Cool ! Though Allan told husband that flat will be targeting completion this weekend... hmm.. still have some doubts ( window grilles, doors, cabinets & wardrobe installations, touchup on plastering of holes, toilet accessories, kitchen accesories, curtain rods installation, storeroom shelving installation..... plus buffering n chemical wash ?... hmm can finish in one week ? Anyway the intended is still 12th.... Also Town Council after our formal complaint to HDB, they will come this friday to double check if it is really the exterior walls that is causing problems to 5th floor & 6th floor neighbour leaking roofs. purecat 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) More Purchases with Photos last Sunday 2nd May From Vhive We bought L shape tables ( basically two tables joint) & one set of drawers, one chair for our study room ( we have two already currently, throwing away one, bring over one old one - > no choice save money ) one chair for daughter's room ) This will be the ideal colour but unfortunately out of stock. Hence we chosen maple colour which is like beige colour. -to be continued- Edited May 5, 2010 by purecat
purecat 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2010 Continue - From Ikea We will be buying one study table for Daughter & one dresser drawers and one round mirror. After our purchases, then we realise, they must deliver within 3 days of purchases, otherwise will charge an additional storage fee by days. Since our flat is not ready... ended up we did a refund and will have to go down again on a separate day. Ikea charges $55 per trip, and 6% of the cost price for installation.
