And i started seeing 32" to 37" (as ppl said 32" is for them to place in their MBR) Aiyoo.. so i then look out for 37".. haha.. so on.. i saw Best denki got 1 40" Samsung.. not bad.. then now 42" !! Bigger n bigger wor !! the price is liked: 37" ~$900, 40" ~$1000-$1200, 42" ~$999-$1499 (which i saw few at IT Fair !!) However, i still do not know the spec / feathers well, so i nv cfm on which is the one i want !! Therefore, i wouldl like to ask whether anyone can give me more advise on the follows: THANKS ! Samsung 40" LCD Full HD $999 LA-40A550M Series 5 Philips 40" LCD Full HD 42PFL8404H 8404 (8000 Series) it the latest model with LED Ambilight at the back.. But i think i need to narrow down.. as in the inch between 37" / 40" / 42" . And the brand / model : Samsung / Philips / or Toshiba ?? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hi, I went down to SITEX last weekend as well. Initially was contemplating between Toshiba (made in Japan) vs LG (look and px), until I came across the Sony booth which was then promoting their 40 inch S550 at $1,299 (comes with $150 Robinson voucher + $50 Giant voucher). Decided to switch to Sony instead despite the fact that it is 2 inch smaller than both Toshiba and LG. Perhaps still attracted to the branding. Hopefully it's a good buy. I understand that Series 7 maybe overkill if u dun need that many function. series 6 is more costly. sony wasnt a consideration due to cost but it seems to be cheap at sitex. but after calculating $1299-200-69, I figure I still save more for my samsung, use less cash. didnt really bother too much about the specs cos my budget was under 1k and i wasnt going to consider toshiba/philips/ and others. Vodkaz Hi Vodkaz, the delivery will be end of Dec so I hvnt try, but did experience from shops way b4 Sitex started and that is the reason I chose Philips. 7409 does not come with the back ambilight. Bought from Sitex whr else, for $1299 + free DVD plyr, 1 HDMI cable, delivery, wall mount + bracket. The one with ambilight is $200 more and I would LOVE to have that but think again, I can spend on BluRay player n titles perhaps ;p ... so I juz make do with watching movies with dimmer lights instead for the cinema feel. BTW there was one instant whr Samsung selling 40" LCD ($1299) with free 26" LCD & DVD plyr. Not sure if the model they offered are good ones old models. Anyway I still stick to my choice, hope I made the right choice, duwanna think too much on LCD's/Plasma/ Philips/Samsung/Panasonic etc ... Oh yah, how come no Panasonic at Sitex ????
