Anyone Bought Fanco Ff707 Aroma?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I intend to buy this fans for all my room. As we do not intend to have L-box and false ceiling, this is the sole light source for our bed rooms and living room.

May I know whether the lights from this fan is bright enough?

Has anyone also use it to solely light up the room?

Hope to get some advice from your experience. Thanks :)

As for Fanco FF707 Ceiling fan can be use in bedrooms but if you are afraid not bright enough can buy a rectangular light. For Living room and MBR the light comfirm not enough as it can't cover big area.

For living room can install Fanco FF20 60" (Wooden Blades) or FF9 56" (Acrylic Blades) with 5 light kits and 1 rectangular light with 3 light tubes.

How much did the shop quote you for the price of 1 Fanco FF770 ?

Hi ninja3101,

Thanks for replying.

For living Room, my wife thinking of buying 2 FF707.

We do not like the light kits that have 3-5 expose light bulbs. We know they will be brighter but think its too low and the cleaning will be more difficult. (both my wife and me are lazy people :P)

One shop tells us that we could change to those straight energy saving bulbs instead of those "curvy" shape ones. Will be brighter and since can put 2, will be bright enough. Dunno how true but another equivalent fan amasco empire is said to be able to fit a higher wattage bulbs since it can accomodate a bigger size bulbs.

I'll not seen any rectangular light kit for ceiling fan that you've mentioned? maybe need to check it out.

Apart from brightness, we're also worried about the quality and support because some shops tells us its from china and quality no good. Then support bad. As u know, different shop owners say different things and can all contradict one another, thus we like to seek sincere opinions and experience from this forum to seek the truth.

So far prices they quote varies from 280-300. The cheapest we got is at E*nos W*arehouse which is 260 but remeber seeing bad feedbacks from forum about fans from this shop.

Hi curiosity,

Aroma FF707 lighting will not be bright enough for reading. As the frosted glass reduces the brightness.

If that's the sole light for your room, i would sugg that you take those with holders type/kind of light kit.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi bro,

Thanks for replying. This is my backup plan if the FF707 really cannot make it. My wife don't really like this type of light kit. We're contemplating to get 1 FF707 in 1 of our bedrooms to test out the light before further deciding on the rest. We're thinking another alternative is to remove that frosted glass cover if it is really reducing the penetration too much. Only put back for asthetic when there is guest. remove when we need the brightness. We're still hoping someone could reccomend a similar design ceiling fan but has powerful lights but alas I believe the wish cannot materialise liao. :(

Hi curiosity

The rectangular light is a individual light not attached to Ceiling fan. Does your living room has L-box so can put down lights ? I know Ceiling fan with 3-5 expose light bulbs are not nice as compare to Fanco FF707 but it brighter of course. So far the price quote to you for Fanco FF707 is 280 - 300 ?

I was quote $380 but I bought lightings from the shop then it was reduce to $340.

Hi ninja3101,

No we didn't put L-box or false ceiling and since the wiring is conceal and limited and we wanted to have ceiling fan, we're only restricted to buying ceiling fan with light since there is no more point for additional lights.

380 for FF707? if you've just bought recently, then I should say its expensive compare to what others quoted us.

Actually there is a similar model in amasco named empire which is also shortlisted by us but this one is more expensive, about 320 - 380.

amasco empire has more space inside its lighting compartment and is said to be able to accomodate bigger bulbs as compared to fanco aroma.

Furthermore its lighting cover has bigger surface area and thus may be brighter than fanco aroma. We're also contemplating buying this but we intend to buy 4-5 ceiling fans, thus may adds up to expenditure. We quite disaapointed when we get feedback now that the brightness is insufficient. Think we may have to buy standalone auxilary lights using those 3 pin plugs to compensate for the deficiency.

Just to update in case someone is having the same query as me. I just bought a fanco aroma to test. The brightness is still acceptable. Although it is not very bright but it is not as bad as we thought it was.

It could fit in a philips tornado 20W or Genie 18W bulb.

Only thing that we don't like is that it is a bit noisy when running at high speed. The installer says its sound of "wind" but we don't think so since we've seen other ceiling fans which is more quiet.

That's all for the update. Hoipe this info is useful.
