oic...imo, if the price doesnt differ much, i would prefer to buy from choo chiang cos it has more branches and more easily accessible.

Eh bro my electrician told me he got it from there and was quote abt $400 for my whole house switches so now i'm thinking of sourcing it myself and see if it's true :P

Hi SGBuzz

We are on the same boat, I understand how you feel. Haiz ya. Open Net said only can install during the stated period that is 25 Jan - 11 Feb , no earlier. If later then need to pay. :(

My ID said once the L-Box is up then lay the bracket above the floor at skirting area that is the only choice. If you manage to get a solution do let me know asap. :)

Sorry guys, i contacted Open Net and even called all of their contractors and the answer is a big fat NO!

This is my conversation with Open Net.

Can pull ahead installation? NO! :curse:

Can i buy the cable to lay the wire first? NO! :curse:

What can you do for me? NOTHING! :curse:

I have also called all their contractors in their list. Apparently only their contractors can do the work and they cannot sell the cables to me and none of them will or can help. :bangwall:

Looks like i have to find a way for them to run the cable. :(

leave in the wire holder in the Lbox/false ceiling or location to run the opennet...make sure it has a long enough string going through it...then it can pull the fibre cable through it when it comes...this is the best alternative for cables coming at a later date...but for those coming before renovation is a real headache...as very hard to relocate...and may be very obiang

Hi SGBuzz

Did u engaged CI to do the electrical works ? I let CI do the electrical works in a package.

Below are the details

Re-Wiring for whole house

1)26 nos of Lighting points

2)8 nos of 13A single power points

3)12 nos of 13A double power points

4) 5 nos of scv points

5) 5 nos of tel points

6) 1 no of 15A air-con point

7) 1 no of 15A heater point

8) 1 no of mcb

9) Labour to install light

Total = $2950

Remarks:Using normal Clipsal single or double power points (with two screws seen from front) and normal switches.

I wanted to change to those bigger switch ones. Then they show my catalog from Clipsal and Legrand.

I ask the electrician which brand is more cheaper. His answer was not much difference but from my findings Legrand switches are more ex.

The electrician will help me do the purchase and install. I am not changing for the single and double power points. Then the laying of electric cables are on next monday. But till now my ID from CI have not get back to me how much to top up for the switches. What if later they charge $300 to top up for Legrand switches after they have install ? I become carrot head. I will call the ID and tell him don buy first.

Are you going to change the switches to those bigger ones only ? How about changing single & double powerpoints with screws cover up ?

Have you went to buy the switches yourself ?

I want to change the switches to those bigger ones and they say gotta top up $200, just wondering if it is worth the trouble to buy and then pass to them to install.
