Recommendation For A/v Receiver And 5.1 Speakers

Recommended Posts

Out of stock cos of CNY, ppl have forgotten about the economic crises for a while. Wah 50" Kuro...drool. My small place can only fit a 42" max.

I booked a Deftech as well, the white speakers won't turn yellow after some time? Cos influenced by you guys, am also thinking of changing the rear speakers to white to blend in with the wall.

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Think abt this... How often do u see black speakers in a home? All da time! N wif 'definitive' as the brand on the speakers, a common person wld think dat it another cheapo brand. Wif white n black mixed together, it definitely somethin unique n add curiousity to it. This is from an aesthetically view only.

It's $2.7k incl of installation n delivery.

Yamaha rxv465 - $560

pro cinema - $1918

upgrade to velo sub - $161

inst - $80

round up to $2.7k

anyway, mind tellin me how much da kuro cost? Thx

Thanks for sharing the price that you got for your HT system..

i paid S$3,939 (cash) for the Kuro.. but put a deposit first (S$439) as my new house will only be ready in May..

if you are looking for the Kuro, you might want to act fast because stocks are clearing fast.. unless you don't mind display sets which some stores still carry..

Hi experts, I need 2 sets of 5.1 speaker systems for my bedroom and the living room based on the following requirements.

1. Bedroom: Budget below $3000 for speakers and amp. Speakers must be compact and black in colour. Main left/right speakers should be within 4 inches in width. For music/gaming/movies/news/ etc but mainly for music. Front, left and right speakers to be wall mounted. Rear speakers to be mounted from ceiling.

2. Living room: Budget below $2000 for speakers and amp. Speakers must be compact and black in colour. For music/gaming/movies/news/ etc but mainly for movies and console gaming. Front, left, right and rear speakers to be mounted from ceiling.

Please kindly advise as I need to get them asap hopefully by March. Cables already laid.

Hi

You should be allocating more budget for the living room rather than the bedroom.

If you like compact speakers, try the Kef satelitte series, Klipsch or Energy. if Bose is your thing, then go for it.

Cheers

Hence, my final setup are:

deft tech 800 speakers x 02 rear white & x 02 front black

deft tech 1000 centre black speaker

velo cht8q sub

yamaha rxv465 receiver

oppo bdp80

tried my very best to convince wifey to change sub to svs but to no avail... (due to it's giganticous size) :(

also, hopefully can get pioneer Kuro 50" or samsung 8 series 55"... totally broke now. Hopefully can get the tv cheaper once 3d tvs are out. Me only fireman, not rich one ah.

Lastly, da above setup may be peanuts to some hardcore audiophiles but to a newbie like me, anything better than my current samsung hts is oredi an improvement. Thx again to all u guys help... (who's knows... Maybe a few yrs I itchy to get projector...)

Bro

Congrats.

The OPPO BDP80 will worth a million dollars in your inventory. Your set up is already more than any entry level.

Cheers

out of stock not because of CNY.. out of stock because no more in production.. pioneer is withdrawing from TV business.. :(

i read from xtremeplace that there are less than 10 sets available in the whole of s'pore.. unless u don't mind a display set, if not you really gotta act fast.. :P

unfortunately, all kuros are sold out.. harvey norman, courts, audiohouse, best denki... :(

hence, had to settle for display set @ courts megastore. kuro 500A @ $2799. (manufactured dec 08)

cuz its a display set, im not takin any chances & purchased the 1+4 years warranty for ard $700. total damage = $3.5k ++. (also manage to get 1 x hdmi cable, hehe)

dunno whether its a good buy, bad buy or compulsive buy. all i know is that harvey norman is selling their display set for $3999 w/o any extended warranty...
