berry_surprise 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 ADT came n accessed on 1 July, gave quotes n procedures. ADT came n setup on 31 July and I didn't know a ready telephone line must be available but was only told the alarm need a telephone point. There was a telephone point ready but I'm going to use starhub digital cable and I need a TV point. So it is ok, activation of alarm can wait till I get my digital line. On 23 Aug, finally starhub granted me my digital line, before citing that they are going through some upgrade of line, that's explain the long wait. Anyway, an appt with ADT was made at 12pm for 24 Aug. Then on 23 Aug, ADT called me and changed to 2-5pm for my appt. Ok, i accepted. Then on 24 Aug, ADT called me at 9+ in the morning to ask to come now. No, I don't accept. Then ADT called again at 11+ to ask to come again now. No, I don't accept and said to them: you cannot just change the appt timing just like that! Finally at 2+ ADT came knocking and I sent them back. Anyway, another appt was made for 28 Aug 10am. ADT came but didn't provide what was needed. What was needed: to replace the loose cover and 1 additional remote control as promised on 1 July during assessment. What was needed again: the technical know how of alarming alarm through calling telephone and also sms notification the ADT tech just said dunno and ask us to refer HQ. Also, I ask for a simulation test on how fast ADT will call me when my house is broken in. the ADT tech said cannot try now. In addition, he doesn't seem to know how to use the alarm because when I asked him to show me how to arm the alarm and he was really taking his time! So I didn't activate the alarm because it is incomplete. All these while, the salesperson claimed that he dunno what had happened with the technical team. To me, if their internal communication is so bad, how can i trust my home with them? It is about security, not just some groceries shopping at the market! FYI, the 1st tech's attitude was not that nice! Called ADT main line, always push me around because they have to get to respective departments. Moral of my story: Think thrice engaging ADT services

berry_surprise 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2010 (edited) 1 quick qns: when we say move house, we move things into the house but if the people do not slp in that house, does it consider as move house? this might help? Feng Shui Questions What are the steps to follow when moving house? Here are the recommended steps. * Select a auspicious date and time to move. This date should take into consideration the birth dates of the family members. * At the appointed day and time, and just before entering, proclaim ownership of the house or say a prayer based on your religious belief. * If you have an altar, locate and position it and perform the necessary religious rites. * Open all the doors and windows. * Switch on the lights, air-conditioner and/or heater in the house. * Let the water taps run for a few minutes. * Move your stuff into the house. * Boil a kettle of water and make some beverages. * Switch on the radio, CD or TV to create some 'Yang" energy. * Cook a meal for family members and helpers * Sleep overnight. You may also 'cleanse' the house by sprinkling a mixture of rice and salt at all the corners. Please note that it is inauspicious to move house when there is a pregnant woman in the family. If you must move then she should not be present. You can move new stuff such as your brand new fridge into the house earlier than the appointed date and time but existing stuff such as you favorite bed and PC should only move in on the designated date and time or later. And please remember to be nice to each other, say good things and do not get into a quarrel! Edited September 7, 2010 by berry_surprise
floppy 4 Report post Posted September 7, 2010 i can't help but feel that stronger lights r needed at the painting n blue don't go with b&w blue does go with black and white, it depends on the shade of blue. the blue for the cabinets would have been ok with black and white if the black/white picture and room is predominantly white. payton 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 Hey Berry, You know what!! When I'm looking at your reno pic, i'm wondering why is your place so familiar. Here come the story... Ever since from July, me and my partner have been wondering who is renovating this unit opposite us. We are in the midst of hunting ID, so we are more observant in house renovation. Day by day, we see the progress and finally saw your glass master bathroom and the lighting from our kitchen window. Once in a while, we are discussing whether to go up and visit this unit but eventually we drop off the idea. Today I see your blog and I realize this is the owner!! We are just staying on the 2nd floor opposite across the carpark diagonally. If ever you see a couple standing downstairs, come say HI to us. Your place is done up so beautifully, really glad to see you here =)

berry_surprise 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2010 so this neighbour have been staring into my house ever since i have moved in. until 1 fine day, i went over n talked to him nicely, he didn't respond at all. i thought he was a mute/deaf. then the following day, he wore a helmet and a towel covering his face and stood at my door, shouting in chinese, threatening. i told him to remove his helmet n i will call the police. so police came 25 mins later and told me to file against this neighbour at the sub-court. as i checked the offences...i found.. Intentional harassment, alarm or distress 13A. —(1) Any person who in a public place or in a private place, with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress to another person — (a) uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour; or (b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting, thereby causing that person or any other person harassment, alarm or distress, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000. [12/96] (2) It is a defence for the accused to prove — (a) that he was inside a dwelling-house and had no reason to believe that the words or behaviour used, or the writing, sign or other visible representation displayed, by him would be heard or seen by a person outside that dwelling-house or any other dwelling-house; or (b) that his conduct was reasonable. i'm so getting this neighbour.
