KSJL 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2010 Realised I have not posted the full layout of my kitchen cabinet. Preview w/o granite top & glass backing Edmund had asked his workers to laminate the area around the kitchen sink for "double protection" against water penetrating the wood cabinet before the granite worktop is installed. Whole area around the sink was subsequently filled with silicon for securing as well as waterproofing. Pic was taken before this was done up. Now I like your top colour of the cabinet - is that white or creamy? May I know the code? Actually I have chosen white colour laminate for my kitchen to match with my black galaxy. I like your creamy colour and I wonder would it match black galaxy granite with grey colour kitchen tiles for mine? Hmmmm.....Nice! Where did you hang the colourful hook at? Kitchen? How much? Would I get discount if I get you to buy from Xtra for me?
KSJL 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2010 Blue: Did you install BLUM for your upper cabinet too? I guess not right since I didnt see but looks nice when open up - I hope Edmund is doing same for me like yours!

Would I get discount if I get you to buy from Xtra for me? It's cream in color and semi gloss finish. I've forgotten the code liao, but the laminate name is clear glacier. I just love the woody & glacier combination. When the cabinet is opened up, inside has wood grain finish as well, which complements the whole overall effect. Don't quite like inner white finish. That's why you see all my carpentry, it has non-white interior. Rem. to specify to Edmund what you want. Just a reminder: once the carpenters done it up @ factory side, it might be abit too late for any changes. So, finalise your wants and let go during your meet up session with Edmund. Though we all know that money can solve all problems. The Hang-it-all is installed @ Master Bedroom. Why will I want it to be at the kitchen collecting oil stains?! Hahaha If not wrong, I think it's the last piece le. keke. Edited February 1, 2010 by bluewater
bluewater 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) Blue: Did you install BLUM for your upper cabinet too? I guess not right since I didnt see but looks nice when open up - I hope Edmund is doing same for me like yours! Only Blum Aventos HL is installed @ the alum. door. Edmund supplies those soft closing hinges & hydraulic pulls but from another brand, not Blum. Personally, I tested it & it works similarly. Makes no sense for me to pay additional separately, just for the more popular brand "Blum" since his quote already includes all the soft closing stuff. hehehe. Yes, he did tell me he doing similar soft closing type for you. If you like Blum stuff, you must tell him to get & pay him separately. He got mine @ amazingly good price. That's why we din hesitate to ask him get 2 pcs. haha. So much better than what was quoted to me from Blum dealer @ Upper Bukit Timah. Yeah, such loose furniture can do it slowly. Buy with our heart If you and ur hubby really love the bedside table, should just get it if it doesn't stretch your budget that much. Sometimes, original piece, than reproduction, is worth the extra cost, if you put them side by side. Lorgan also sells the Eames Hang-it-all but reproduction piece. We decided to pay a bit more to get the original in the end. For us, we opted out of wallpaper as we are afraid of losing attention over time. To remove them is a heavy chore. Wall decals are still not too bad. The carpenters under my contractor are quite good and experienced. Feel free to let me know if you wish to consider them. Or you can try back your previous carpenter if you like their works? Do take some pics once you have tidied up the place ya

Personally, I just don't quite like the idea of using hydraulic pulls for the alum door, which is on daily "high traffic" mode. thanks blue.. got ur contractor's contacts.. will gv him a buzz after cny..
