kelvinkezz 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2009 Hee, we got the same hood. Unfortunately, I'm going to change this hood to another which is the slim type one. Because my kitchen has a very low support beam and my contractor suggested that it will not be nice to use this hood.

kelvinkezz 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2009 saw this citigas advertisement on the backpage of straits time (money section). wondering if we should buy the heater and dryer....
kelvinkezz 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2009 Very long post...... Super tiring for us today. Went out of the house at 10am. Got home at 10pm. A full 12hrs driving around, looking at all the recommendations which i have compiled and zoomed in from all the info and research from RT. 1st stop - Citigas First buy of the day. Purchased the gas dryer at $588. Then was told there is a $100 installation fee which makes the dryer cost $688. Paid using Platinum mastercard and joined the Mastercard promotion (http://www.vivocity.com.sg/happenings_promotions.html#mastercard). Hopefully we are the 1st 250 to sms which will enable us to get the $50 vivocity vouchers (fingers crossed!). Considered about buying the gas heater but from our observation of the actual water pressure at the citigas gallery, seems that it can't support the rainshower. So going to forgo the gas heater. 2nd stop - Isetan Scotts Went to Isetan to check out the King Koil promotion. Quite a good deal especially the "Blissful Sleep" model which is the Ultra Latex pocketed spring mattress (non-flip). Going for $1,299 (Queen size) + $199 (Head board and bed frame). Although we think that it was a very good deal, we decided to shop around for other brands as well. 3rd stop - Parkmall Wanted to check out the Hansgrohe bathroom accessories after seeing the 25% discount advertisement in the straits times. Realised that Grohe was also having a 25% storewide discount (but must pay with Amex). Really liked the Grohe rainshower but the RRP is at least $2.5k!!! Placed the Gorhe shower mixer on our watchlist. Went to Hansgrohe but apparently the only 2 salespeople were too busy attending to other customers. Anyway, did not fancy anything there. We also checked out Simmons mattresses. Really really really like the Custom Royal (Queen) mattress! But the price is a whopping $3,759! (additional 5% discount if paid by credit card). Decided to try our luck at the Robinson's bed shop at Centrepoint. 4th stop - Robinson's Bed Shop at centrepoint Tried the Simmons, Sealy, King Koil and Serta mattresses. All the sales people were praising their respective brands non-stop and each claimed to have their own specially patented coil.... blah blah blah..... Our brief feedback based on those which we have tried (hugely influenced by our own preferences) i) Simmons - Custom Royal is still the best we have slept on. Price exactly same as parkmall. ii) Sealy - Extremely over-rated IMHO iii) Serta - Nothing caught our attention iv) King Koil - We thought they had mattresses that were more value for money. Placed the "Natural Response Hard" model on our watchlist. Cost = $1,635. 5th stop - Hommage Trading http://www.hommage-trading.com/. Spoke to Charles as Eric wasn't around. Very nice friendly chap. Seems like they can duplicate or copy designs (bed frames & sofas) from other brands and at very good price too. Basically, they can customise to the customers' preferences at very reasonable prices as their production is in China. Worth considering if we have a design in mind. Unfortunately, we just want to "grab and go". So KIV until further interest. 6th stop - Gennova This was actually our 2nd trip there. After confirming with our contractor that we should buy the rainshower set from Genova, we bought the Arino rainshower cum Grohe (mixer) for $358 for our MBR toilet. Bought the $198 Grohe mixer + Arino handheld shower set. Total damage = $556. Charged everything to another mastercard and participated in the mastercard promotion thingy again. We are a big fan of Grohe but we are not going to pay crazy money for them! 7th stop (last stop) - Furniture Mall @ Beach Road We checked out Lorenzo. Price was so so. Average price of sofa (3+2 seater) = $1600+-. Head straight to Cellini. The $2,998 package caught our eyes. For $2,998, we get a full leather sofa, classy dining table and a designer looking bed frame. Our hearts are more or less set on purchasing the $2,998 package already. Will probably wait for a bank credit card promotion to come along before signing on the dotted line. We also enquired about the $1,998 and seems like it's still available too. King Koil boutique. There is a further 10% discount if pay by RBS credit card. Added another model to our watchlist. May buy it together with the Cellini purchase. Tired tired tired...... by then, it was already 9pm.... headed to Old Airport Road food centre to "pamper" ourselves with some nice oily food
kelvinkezz 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 Hacking of the old floor granite and the walls done! re-tiling will be done soon after our air-con contractor has done all the pipings. Some photos for everyone to "enjoy" Picture below shows the wall which was hacked so that we can shift the toilet door entrance to the living room Picture below shows the wall hacked to "resize" our toilets to make the MBR toilet bigger (and common toilet smaller)

Angel81 1 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Unfortunately, I'm going to change this hood to another which is the slim type one. Because my kitchen has a very low support beam and my contractor suggested that it will not be nice to use this hood. Icic. Well, slim hoods also good, can store stuff in the cabinets on top of the hood. Wao, that's alot of granite & walls hacked to be carted away.
