spotty 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 Hi everone, I'm very new here. Would like ppl here to give me comment and susgestion... We're getting our new house keys at Punggol just round the corner... Maybe Nov Or Dec. So we have been sourcing around for ideas and quote now. So over last few weekend, we've met up with designer(Kelvin) from Nu Space Design to discuss our new house design. From our meeting, we like his service and the informations input from him. He's a very patient, creative, friendly and with lots of ideas. What amaze us is that he can on the spot sketch out our living room, master bedroom and kitchen ideas within few minutes. But due to our very tight budget only keep it at 15k for our renovation, he proposed us their in-house package. Which inclusive of ceiling works, carpentry works and misscellanous works. This is how it goes: Carpentry Works: 20ft kitchen cabinet, Full height TV feature wall & suspended TV console, Full height wardrobe at master bedroom, low height shoe cabinet and suspended vanity cabinet at master toilet. (He did mentioned all hinges he is providing are anti slam type) Ceiling Works: False ceiling for entrance area, "L" box **** and dining hall, false ceiling at bedroom corridor and master bedroom. Cove lighting for master bedroom Misscellanious Works: Protection for whole house, whole house painting using ICI or NIPPON paint (5colour max), whole house cleaning, acid washing for 02toilet and kitchen. Install 02toilets accessorries and 24months warranty. All the above mentioned items which cost us $9,200 . Which exclude Air-con. Cos we engage Gain City to do up our unit. ($2,488) Others that need to set aside are, electricial works ($1,600), buy lights fixture ($1,500) and curtain maybe DIY from IKEA ($900 est). So would like bro and sister here to share your point of view, is the above mentioned package worth consider? Is it value for money? Cos we got 02 quotes fm other ID which are more than 10k. One @ $11,380, Other one $13,800. So might consider NU SPACE DESIGN. But only concern us is their worksmanship and after sales serives. BTW, we've requested to view his recent project and he had arranged one for us to view over this coming weekend. So maybe worksmanship can view at his job site and try to get info from his previous owner experience with him Hope to receive more feedback and susgestion and also what are the things should look out and consider. Thanks in advance for all bro and sis... Cheers

You should be worried about price but sometimes service is more important. Some contractor might give you alot of problems later on after you sign on the dotted line. The most important thing is to find a trusted ID which you are comfortable with. You might wan to pull out some items to fit your budget but the most important thing is a find a responsible ID
