Hi SGK,

How much did you spend on reno? I spend 47K (excluding furnishing) renovating an EA by a contractor. Like to see the savings compared to yours which is done by an ID.

Wah, you have saved a lot. My combined bill from my ID and windows contractor Alex is $68, 200, and I kept all the marble floors of the Living room, Dining Room, 3 Bedrooms and Study because I was told that it is expensive to hack marble floors.

Thanks coldflamez. We wanted to install ventillator fans in the toilets initially but was told that this is against HDB rules. So no choice, we install the wall fans and hope that they will help to drive out the unpleasant smell :P .

Both my ID and my window contractor told me that it is illegal because outside the toilet windows is ope air. If we install the ventilator fan (which will protrudes out of the window slightly) and and some parts of it drop off, it may hurt people who happen to be standing below. I think we only install ventillator fans on the toilet windows that open out to the yard area or aircon latch.

Can i check the size of the fan in your MBR toilet? where you get it from. I'll need one in mine too.

TIA

Lyn

I got it from best denki I think. The brand is TDK, size 12 inch (very rare, most wall mounted fans are 16 inch), and cost is $107. We saw some much cheaper ones earlier and we thought there was no urgency to buy. But when we needed to buy it for the workers to install, all the cheap ones were sold out and we had no choice but to go for this rather expensive model.

Thanks SGK, I rushed over to Best Denki @ Century Square last Fri and it's the last one...it's TDK still $107. I knew it was illegal but whenever I put on makeup ...I'm sweating too...so this is one item in my wishing list. Thanks alot for the prompt reply.

Hi,

I'm looking at these type of wall paint with clock, any feedback? Did you get yours at $95?

TIA

Lyn

Can't remember the exact name of my paint. All I can remember is some kind of white. White makes the whole place looks clean, at least for now. But it won't be suitable if you have small kids at home.

For the clock, I get from hourstyle.com. Tell them in your email that you are from renotalk and they will give 10% discount. The clocks come in 3 sizes and mine is medium size (36.5cm by 36.5cm) and costs $75 before discount. The clock has been working very well since it is put up.
