Hi babyleomummy, it is phoenix palm and it requires zero maintenance because it is an artificial plant:P . As you can see, the study has no windows - hence no sunlight and no air, so it will be quite difficult to grow such a big tree there. I was a bit worried initially that the table may be too long for the room but now it looks like a nice fit: Hi SGK, may I know where you bought your dinning table and how much was it? Final Posts of Reno Pics for My House Last night My wife and I finally finished unpacking all our boxes and this afternoon we solved our bedframe problem by unscrewing out the gigantic bedhead and to our relief the remaining three sides of the bed frame stay very much intact and now our bed fits in nicely to our master bedroom. This means that we need not waste money buying another bedframe . With this we have more or less come to the end of our renovation journey and for the first time since we shifted in two weeks ago, we felt that we can really sit down and enjoy our home. Looking back, I will say overall we have a very enjoyable renovation experience which started last October when we 'blur blur' went to an interior design exhibition in Expo to look for renovation ideas. We spoke to several IDs there but ended up engaging Kennedy of Earnest Interiors to take charge of our renovation. The wait to start our renovation was really long because at the time we confirmed our ID we have yet to go for our first HDB appointment. Renovation finally started 3 days before CNY and after a short break during the CNY period, it went full-steam. While we encounter some unforeseen problems along the way, we are glad that our ID is able to solve all the problems for us. In some cases, the solution to the problems become a new design attraction to the house (though they don't come free). For example, the display cabinet outside the common bathroom and the raised flooring of the dry kitchen are all constructed to conceal ugly pipes. We are really happy with the overall outcome and a lot of credit must go to my ID As a closure to this journey, I will like to post some pics to record the transformation that the house has undergone. Final Product: haha... hey i tot the plant was real too! babyleomummy, if u wan a low maintenance plant, maybe u can get the money plant. im really bad of taking care of plants (i even killed one of those cactus/succulents thingy, tink i have black fingers as oppose to a green ones) but i hvnt killed the money plant as yet... bought it abt 3mths bk.. or u could get the rubber plant, its quite durable too. tink its official name is ficus elasticus (something like tt), its supposed to help clean the air too.. Can't really tell you how much it costs because I bought it together with many other items - bed, sofa, coffee table, bedside table etc. The total package is $6888. Thanks for the compliments. Your house looks good too, even after 1.5 years. I saw your carpet changed from the initial white to the recent black. Is it the result of dirt collection over the past 18 months ? Just kidding. Did you throw away the white carpet? Is it because it is hard to maintain? I also have a white carpet in my living room now and I can already see that it is turning black . haha... hey i tot the plant was real too! Enjoying the house? ya.. but slowly adding a little here n there.. jz started my display cabinet installation. also some parts of the plastered walls cracked so its being rectified as i'm typing. but yea so far, enjoying the house.. I like money plant too but too small for the balcony. babyleomummy, moneyplants can grow quite big i tink.. found tis pic in the web, its abt 5ft high. money plants are creepers anyways, jz gv them something tall to creep up.. or u can try the rubber plant i mentioned.. they are pretty durable too, know tis cos hv it currently n it hasnt died as yet.. tink they can grow quite big too.. That's a BIG moneyplant. The moneyplants that I've seen are those that grows in small pots with water.. May have to pay a visit to the nursery to have a look.
