Caireann 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2009 Hi, in the last days I have looked around what others did in terms of renovation. Quite a few told me that they shifted the toilet bowl to another more convenient place. Question: does HDB now allow that??? and to which extend do they allow that? Caireann 1 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 Just got another idea without shifting the tolet bowl too much.... has anyone done that? That way there is enough space to put a sink into the existing small bathroom...
DL838 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2009 I asked the worker from the WC supplier before if your suggested position is allowed & was told HDB doesn't allow any shift/change of WC position. I prefer your suggested layout too. Too many restrictions for HDB flats!

It is not easy, must get QP must go clear CBPU, then your toilet must be of a higher level than now so that the gradient sufficient for the waste to flow back to the existing downpipe (you cannot change the downpipe because it is cast into concrete and affect your neightbour). Even can be done, it will not be cheaper than $10k. Not worth the effort.

As long as the hole remains the same like in your pic, it shouldn't be a problem... best to check with HDB before that...

Caireann 1 Report post Posted October 26, 2009 Agree... the output gotto be routed to the same hole... People from the HDB hub here just told me: "dont know, cant say" Its HQ decision ... a frind of mine shifted it quite a bit and HDB allegedly approved it.....I dont know what to do or believe now. Sure the whole pipe cannot be relocated because the nighbour below would be affected...maybe it could be extended a bit
