Hanging light for dining area... juz above the dining table.. will change the bulb to LED bulbs.. (rainbowguy's choice)

dininglightswithoutflas.jpg

I like rainbowguy's one too. In fact, we dropped by at lightings.com with our ID when we went to Living Vision to finalise the furniture colour a few weeks ago and we were considering between rainbowguy's choice and this one:

We like the brilliant scattering by the bubbles of the pendant lamp but felt that it may not provide sufficient illumination to the dining area because the bulb is hidden behind the metal casing. The 'hanging pendant' is simple, sleek and very bright (the actual one looks nicer than the picture because of its brightness). It is also very easy to clean or change bulb. But then I am also worried that it will be too glaring. Any comments?

Hi SGK. Personally, my principle of buying any lights is it must not be glaring for the eyes. In any case, if the light is still too bright or glaring even if u use a low light intensity bulb, then I won't buy. Lights should be soothing and not glaring for the eyes. :)

Hi SGK,

comparing your choice & rainbowguy's choice, i refer rainbowguy's choice cos' the hanging pendant looks abit too glaring for eyes comfort.

actually the light dispersion of rainbowguy's choice is quite wide.. u can ask the shop assistant... that's one of the reason why rainbowguy likes it..

Rainbowgal,

I think u should be getting Rainbowguy's selection since I think I am the only one who vote for ur selection. I feel ur selection has more glam factor.

I think I made her honey pomelo tea before going to the shop

Haha... i cannot say much, wait hehe... Well... I think rainbowgal's choice is too complicated and so many crystals dangling... hard to wash and maintain (afterall knowing who will do the cleansing ultimately...). Also, we are trying to go simple, sleek and neat style, the minimalist. Therefore, there will be a out of place look for her light, i think so. She was so nice at the shop and offers to buy in whatever choice I made, so why not, don't wait... grab the opportunity! :sport-smiley-004:

Hi SGK,

Not only that, it is easy to maintain... it's bright and the light angle is wide so that it covers over a big area... It will be an electric saver since 3W per bulb and will give a total of 9W for three pieces.

Thanks for all the advices. Yes, since there are already cove lights and down lights at my dining area I think there is no need for a very bright lamp. My ID has a slight preference for the hanging pendant but I think he likes the pendant lamp as well :).

How come all husbands have the same fate :( ? My wife is always so excited when she sees those lamps with hundreds of crtstals dangling below and she never thinks of cleaning. And by the way, I still need her approval before I confirm on the hanging pendant.
