In fact, we dropped by at lightings.com with our ID when we went to Living Vision to finalise the furniture colour a few weeks ago and we were considering between rainbowguy's choice and this one: We like the brilliant scattering by the bubbles of the pendant lamp but felt that it may not provide sufficient illumination to the dining area because the bulb is hidden behind the metal casing. The 'hanging pendant' is simple, sleek and very bright (the actual one looks nicer than the picture because of its brightness). It is also very easy to clean or change bulb. In any case, if the light is still too bright or glaring even if u use a low light intensity bulb, then I won't buy. Lights should be soothing and not glaring for the eyes. Well... I think rainbowgal's choice is too complicated and so many crystals dangling... hard to wash and maintain (afterall knowing who will do the cleansing ultimately...). Also, we are trying to go simple, sleek and neat style, the minimalist. Therefore, there will be a out of place look for her light, i think so. Yes, since there are already cove lights and down lights at my dining area I think there is no need for a very bright lamp. How come all husbands have the same fate ? My wife is always so excited when she sees those lamps with hundreds of crtstals dangling below and she never thinks of cleaning.
