Dining Table: Round Vs Rectangular?

Recommended Posts

Hi. How do you decide on whether to purchase a round or rectangular table?

I've got a 6m x 3m rectangular space which serves as both living and dining areas. some people have told me round would be better for space as it accommodates more people, but others have told me rectangular makes more sense.

any thoughts please?

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

it depends i think round table would be better in a square dining room coz its equally accessible from all sides whereas a rectangle table would fit better in a dining room with a weird shape/other shapes . in which, the rectangle table will be flushed against the wall.

If you are planning to split the space exactly in 2, in other words 3x3m, I recommend a 1.5m diameter round dining table with 6 chairs.

But if you want to have a bigger sofa set, then a rectangular table makes more sense.

Round table takes up more space than rectangular ones I think... also depends if you believe in fengshui. People who do will prefer to have a round dining table and will reduce the number of sharp edges they have in their house...

:) hope that helps
