JandG 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Hi JandG, Your kitchen looks good! Mind sharing what laminates that you used? Is it the metallic series? Thanks qezash! Yes we did use the metallic laminates...despite our ID keep insisting it scratches easily and is not good we realise its quite hardy and looks great too! Not everything ure ID tells u is good...we realise. Cost wise its only 300 or so more....really worth it for the look

Was drawn to the metallic series when my contractor passed the laminate book to me, but sadly he said cannot choose those Probably coz of price i think? But your pics are tempting me. Haha. And I wished I had your blue mosaic toilet. Searched all around hafary for blue tiles but only had mosaics which are pricey! But I think your end result is pretty worth it Edited March 30, 2010 by qezash

But I think your end result is pretty worth it yep, we had to top up for the laminates..but when u consider u will be using the hse for a gd 5 yrs at least, then it bcomes worth it ya?...consider it and if u have a bit extra cash, do go for it as the results are truly satisfying. yeah mosaic is pricey as its over $10 per piece....it depends on the area as well...if u do just one or two panels it shouldnt be that ex...we topped up around 500 for the 2 full height panels. i think if u do too much mosaic its overkill too....so just find a nice small area to decor and the result shd be good - Go for it ! JandG 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 Definitely and how I wished I got the budget to do up nice nice as yours!! actually u dun have to bust your bank to get the look. just hv to shop around more and keep a keen eye for discounts and sales eg refer to Saturday newspapers. Most of our appliances and furniture were bought at sales and we saved a lot frm there.... as for the reno cost, things like electrician and plumber cannot save cuz they do an impt job...but the rest depends on the ID u get as carpentry, ceiling work, painting more of less the same as long as u find a gd honest one based on gd recommendations

JandG 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2010 After staying at our "new" place for almost a year without curtains, we finally decide to get our lazy asses off the couch and go hunt for curtains.. Went to the usual suspects for quotations, finally decided on one.. They will come and take site measurements tomorrow, will post the pictures up and give reviews when they are done.. JandG 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Hi. Can share the contact & cost of your main door job pls ? thx Hi, sorry for the late reply... The main job was done as part of the package with the carpentry, so I wouldn't know the exact cost breakdown.. If you are doing carpentry works try to ask the carpenter to do the door as well lor.. Cos it's a labour and time intensive job, normally carpenters are quite reluctant to do it cos it's not profitable for them to waste so much time. Also, it depends on what kind of laminates you use. Ballpark figure is around 400 to 500 to re-laminate the main door.
