JandG 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 Chpt 14 : Murphy's Law Granite installation next. We confirmed with the nice aunty our black galaxy piece for the kitchen and emerald pearl for the toilets. discovered that the price for the granite is same price as the solid top quoted me by ID. After many rounds of amendments by the carpenter for the 2 toilets vanity..(delay by 1 wk plus) we finally resigned to fate and accepted the short thin and ugly cabinet. Finally the granite guy could do his work on the cabinets and the glass guy could do his bit. Granite guy also had some problems as the sizes were out and they had to amend size and dimension. End result is something like this for common bathroomlittle tulip common bath lightdressing table mirrordark tinted glass panel for WIW
JandG 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 Ah ! I didnt get to why Murphy's law is true...That's because our reno was still lacking things like plumbing installation, internal doors, general cleaning, final lighting fixtures..and look what arrived ?? ONE mth early.....our dining table and chairs !! we wanted to reschedule it earlier, BUT the boss never confirmed anything. he just changed the date and didnt inform us. imagine if we were travelling or what...how they gonna send ? see my filthy floors and my cellophane wrapped chairs and table

Yr clipsal zencelo full flat series, how much does it cost n fm where? tks.. The rainshower is from GROHE, so are the mixers and the hand-shower and the taps.. The rainshower components are sold separately so it's kinda hard to tell you the cost, and I'm not too sure whether you want to know the cost of just the rainshower head or the whole set with mixers and concealed body and all. I got my electrician to purchase the switches for me, but I believe he got it from Choo Chiang Marketing.. I spent about $550 to replace all the switches, SCV, Tel points and powerpoints in the whole house..

JandG 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2009 Chpt 15 : The Lock of Love Finally ! Our doors can go in. We saved the drs for last as we didnt want them to get in the way of installations and things. So, when the guys came down to install, it was a milestone in our reno, symbolising the final lap of our reno the hinges being sawn off to fit solid veneer doors in mahogany. the grain is horizontal to the floor...instead of normal vertical lines...master bedroom door...looks darker heremain door Gateman lock. Hubby's new toy for the home feels kinda like an investment. Our estate is a new one and quiet...so good to invest in security for the new home

JandG 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 Beautiful doors and high-tech main lock! I'm also considering something like that. How much did it costs? Well, we first saw this digital lock at another shop, the Yale 2108. Did some research and found out that Gateman has the exact same model and Gateman is now partly owned by Yale.. Lucky never buy the Yale cos it's almost twice the price for the exact same thing! Just the brand logo on the lock different only! The Yale cost almost $600 and the Gateman cost $330! It's a no-brainer choice. Comes with installation & 1 year warranty.
