MTlot 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 pardon me but what's the diff betw using glass, stainless steel or tiles? cost-wise & maintenance? can anyone enlighten me? thanks!! Depends on length i guess. For me I'm using 10ft stainless steel. 1)Tiles - included in your reno quotation. 2)Glass - tempered , additional cost ( usually not included in quotation and expensive for tempered glass ) 3)Stainless Steel - additional cost ( usually cheaper due to different grades ) Above explaination is advise from my contractor. For maintenance wise, I'm not too sure for no 1 and 2 as I've never used before. For no 3 currently using at my in law's hse so far quite easy to wipe off any oil stains after cooking.
