Mickey M 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Another hiccup: My 3D drawing has 3 doors for the bottom cabinet. But the carpenter did 4 doors, i dunno why. From an angle, it seems 2 of the doors are smaller in width compared to the rest. Can't confirm this becoz the workers workingon the cabinet and i can't get close enough to see... Haiz.... If u have a problem with it, u should have let the carpenter know on the spot. If not, rectification will be more troublesome as the carpenter have to dismantle. Time and effort are wasted. Is it because not enuff tubes so u space them out? Are the cove light and downlight sufficient to brighton up the other side of the room? I dun see any downlights on the other side. I dun see any downlights on the other side. thanks. yup there's dim areas. i bought 4 tubes for that area but only installed 3. since it's enuff to brighten the room, i will stick to only 3 tubes. save electricity. enough to brighten the other side but not bright enough to read lor. intend to switch on to watch movies. yup, you are right, the other side is w/o any lights. ossify 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Now comes the saddest part of this whole renovation. I was so happy last night after seeing the lightings.. but the happiness is shortlived. Regret..... (1) I chose postform for my kitchen top instead of solid surface because postform uses wood and laminate and there are more colours to choose from. But i forgot that postform top canno tdo undermount of sink. I am dissapointed. My mum also. Very dissapointed. Dunno whether is it Contractor told me before but i forgot or they gave me the wrong info. Regret..... (2) Postform uses laminate. So for my L-shape cabinet, there is a need to paste 2 seperate pieces of laminate and there is a joint line. I was told about this but i forgot about it. Haiz.... bro. postform is much cheaper than solid surface. i hope you got some kind of discount. my ikea postform is only $95 for 8ft. solid surface is at least $75 pfr or $600 for 8ft, 6 times difference in price. as for the doors, i agree with Mickey, clarify it asap. 'End-cap' not neccessary means there is really a cap-like thing that wraps up the end-point. She also said that all customers skirting are like that including her own house. I have ordered her to go down to site tomorrow afternoon during lunch time to see what can be done. Duhz..... hi all, The workers just grind n polished but the skirting are still old, dented, scratches and quite dull. so diff from the floor. I make a quick review abt my contractor here in case i forgot later on. My contractor/company, seems that their style of working is that once you (as a customer) agreed on the price, then there should be minimal involvement from the customer. Actually not "it seems", IT IS! Because they told me so. They said i involve myself too much and causes delay. I should trust them, their design and their taste. And now when they are rushing the work for me (moving in this weekend), i decided to trust them and keep quiet. End up? The kitchen is a goner. 4 doors become 3 doors. 2 big 2 small. And my stove also put at a awkward position leaving little space fo rmy microwave but very big space on the other side. See picture in a few posts later. I already told them. Now dun even know whether a small one can fit ina not. Even if can fit, it will be very very close to the stove/fire. Maybe it is not obvious from the picture becos i took the pic at an angle. gantan88 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 Lighting issue.... I wanted a daylight CFL. The lady at the lighting shop gave me a CFL of 7400k. I am ignorant about this. I thought the higher value the brighter it is. I install it then realise something is wrong. It is too dim for a 32W light. Went to google, realise that daylight is 5000k. Sh**t.
