sanpokchubby 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Just met up with my contractor yesterday... one whole list of things to think and decided and resloved 1) Settle where all the eletrical points and lighting points are yesterday 2) Relise that I only need 1 light for my kitchen, but i bought 2 already . Not sure if can reject. 3) Contractor needs to know how high is the support for my fridge. My fridge will be near the entrance to the kitchen, hence need to make sure it can open totally without knocking into the drop off curb 4) Hv decided how the trunking of the air con should run and where the aircon should be. 5) Contractor intially ask for air con ppl to set up trunking first, then they paint over, then air con ppl to install aircon after that, which means 2 trips. Gain City say they charge $85 for additional trip. Sianz 6) then turns out that the best way the trunking should run is along the wall near the floor. This will cause my bed to be unable to pushed back to the wall, hence a gap in between. So the contractor suggest to do a fake decorative wall to cover the trunking, which means can have lights coming out from it or and put photos along wall. Will cost additional $1200 7) Hv decided how the inside structure of the built-in wardrobe. 8) The contractor given me a whole set of cateloges to bring home and deicide - type of doors - type of locks - type of cornice - colour of paint - type of cabinets - type of aluminium bi-fold doors I am feeling soooooooooooooo overwhelmed right now!!!! My aircon trunking installer also wanted to run along the floor, but I told him I am not custom making my wardrobe/bed/bedside table and I want them to flush against wall so in the end, we install the trunking at the corner between the ceiling and the wall
liquid_fuel 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 If you are getting the hood & hob yourself, please do check with your ID or contractor as in when they need the items in. As they do need the cut out dimension of the hood so that they can cut out the right size on your kitchen top. Hob wise, will be to cater the right spacing for mounting on top of the cabinet. Sometimes contractor may rush into production and forgotten to tell you all these. Hence, many owners also ended up rushing sourcing for these items.
