forgotten 1 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) bunk in with your parents first. you should not put the burden of your misjudgement onto your buyer. i just bought my first home paying ridiculous COV as we like the unit a lot and we need not do any more renovation (hence the reno budget we dump into the COV). we had already stepped back and given the seller more than 45 days to submit the resale application as they are also having hiccups with relocation. now i am sleepless thinking about whether they may try to delay further should they face further problem with their relocation. we want to be understanding, but now my boys are sleeping in their grandparent's living room while we wait to for our first home. my first appointment is still months away. please hor. spare a thought for the buyers. Your seller die die must complete 2nd appointment within 8 weeks from 1st appointment. It's HDB regulation. Edited December 18, 2009 by forgotten

We very nice right? so hope they take good care of our house. but even with HDB's 8 weeks regulations, will HDB extend upon request from seller??

HDB will not give further extension to the seller. The only case where the deal can fall through is when the seller suddenly becomes a bankrupt. But the seller and buyer can reach a contractual agreement by themselves, e.g. seller pays rent to the buyer in order to stay longer in the house. cacabi111 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) hi i just had my 1st appt...the usual is 6-8 weeks later for 2nd appt. The seller has the right to request for the max of 8 weeks, and thats as far as they can go. Unless buyer side also agree for 2nd appt longer than that, then HDB will fix based on the agreed date (can be lesser/more than the usual 6-8 wks) since both sides are agreeable.
