ynove 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm considering Hokkaido as one of my options for honeymoon. BUT my wedding is on Dec 28, and I'm most likely travelling in the first week of Jan 2010. I heard that it's deathly cold in Hokkaido because of winter, and that the Japanese practically shut down for business in the first week of Jan because of New Year. Is this true? How cold is cold during that period, and do they really shut down where I'm going? When, then, is a good time to go to Hokkaido. I'm in love with their hot springs, fresh seafood, and traditional Japanese inns!
