Dear all,

I am planning to renovate my 4rm flat. I obtained the following detail quotation from my ID...can pls help me assess see if its reasonable or anything can reduce? I am lost in this....need help!!! thanks

A. Ceiling Work

1. Living Hall- Supply labour and material to construct partial false ceiling and L-Box light holder, for light distribution ($580)

2. Dining hall- Supply labour and material to construct partial false ceiling and L-Box light holder, for light distribution ($440)

3. Master Bedroom- Supply labour and material to construct partial false ceiling and L-Box light holder, for light distribution ($415)

B. Carpentry Work

1. Living Hall

a. Design, fabricate and install L4ft full height feature wall to mount TV ($800)

b. Design, fabricate and install L6ft suspended TV console ($780)

2. Passageway

a. Design, fabricate and install L8ft full height feature wall, come with tic tac door system to conceal home shelter ($1680)

3. Study room

a. Design, fabricate and install L11ft suspended L-shaped study desk, comes with drawers ($1370)

b. Design, fabricate and install L6ft suspended book cabinet, come with light pelment underneath ($750)

c. Design, fabricate and install L4ft cushion panel on bay window ledge ($400)

4. Master bedroom

a. Design, fabricate and install L4ft suspended feature wall, come with light pelment underneath ($800)

b. Design, fabricate and install L3.5ft suspended TV console ($420)

c. Design, fabricate and install L5ft suspended bedhead reading light pelment, come with coated glass finishing ($850)

d. Design, fabricate and install L9ft cushion panels ($900)

5. Glass work

a. Supply labour and material to install 4 X bevelled graphite tinted mirrors and 1Xbevelled normal mirror, come with solid plywood support underneath ($1450)

6. Supply labour and material to construct suspended platform using chengai wood, come with support underneath ($1300)

7. Painting work with ICI paint, 5colors and white ($1600)

8. Haulage work+ general cleaning service upon completion ($550)

Total : $16,140

hi....

i observe u have a lot of carpentry works, so it surely will be exp..

to save on cost, u can try getting standalone items like TV console, shelves, etc.

With so much carrpentry work I believe you will save a LOT more if you go direct to a contractor

may be u compare all quotes and see it is cheap or not. can try summit design studio, i got a quote around $136XX

Workmanship very good, also provide many good ideas and information.

Confirm cheapest and best in town.

No harm to ask for quote. i mean do ask many quotes from many id firms before making decision.
