called yee sin and the uncle quoted $220 for white steel stands and white laminated plywood for his standard L-racks. Is there anywhere that I can find a better deal?

Hi. My bomb shelter store is quite big. 273 x 160 cm with 284 cm height. I want to rack as high as practical. I used Ikea GORM DIY wooden shelving system at my previous place. Loved it. But they reach only 174 cm height and Ikea has discontinued the extension & corner systems.

Checked out Yee Sin & Gawa. Looks promising. Some questions.

1. When installed, do they look too industrial?

2. What are the frames made of ? Steel or Aluminium? Will rust?

3. What is the max height that can be installed?

4. For safety, such racks are normally secured to the wall. Yee Sin / Gawa will do so for you?

I just had my U shaped rack installed by Yee Sin. Cost me just under $500 and took them 1 hr 10 mins.

My rack is relatively big at 102" (2591 mm) + 62" (1575 mm) + 58" (1473 mm) by 90" (2286 mm) height. Depth is 60 cm in the centre and 40 cm on the two sides.

I also had a quote from Gawa but it is about 3 times the price. However, Gawa is using all steel and looks nicer (like library shelves) while Yee Sin looks more like factory shelves. You compare the photos on their websites and you get the idea.

I have also purchased shelving from Yee Sin, delivery was prompt and the set-up was very fast.

My measurement was 173cm by 113cm, the standard sized L shaped shelving with PVC boards. It was for $190.

Thumbs up for them!

I'm going to have a Storeroom below my stairs, I plan to custom make a metal structure shape of the store, with wheels, so I can full load the structure and push it into the triangular store, maximise space usage and can easily retrieve things deep inside. Havent decide how until I get the keys :)

Hi all,

I'm new here, I chance upon this thread through google, searching for a storeroom rack, interestingly this thread has all the vendors needed to buy a storeroom rack. So I follow all the members advise, I call up all the related vendors, do some homework and check out their pricing vs quality, vs good look, vs metal or wood that sort of research. Something is missing out, I check out an ads from olx, and I found this guys selling the full metal storeroom rack, from the look of the website, I think this guys are quite new, so I went down to their warehouse and check it myself. I'm totally sold. Its a white, fully metal rack, just nice for my storeroom. So I bought 2 to form an L shape. In fact, for the record, I went down to check-in most of the vendor in our thread here.

I'm not advertising for them, neither do I want to be flooded with pm the next day.
check this link yourself, http://storeroomrack.com
I'm doing this just for the benefits of all the members.

Anyway, carrefour is gone, the other places you can check for storeroom rack are Giant, and some of the bigger DIY stores in Singapore. Compare around you will eventually found something you like.

So much of research, just to get one thing, sure looks like I have a lot of time....and my next mission is getting a ceiling fan.

We used Sim Win Liang shelves for our bomb shelter. Of all the vendors and contractors we dealt with for our house renovations, Sim Win Liang was one of the most professional and fuss free. They were out of stock for the shelves we wanted, so asked us for our bomb shelter dimensions. Within a day, they sent us a professionally-drawn diagram of which shelves of theirs would fit in best, and the price for these. When it came to installations, they booked a date in a timely manner and everything was installed within 30 mins without any fuss. We chose the boltless ones, and these have lasted us fine for almost 6 months now (and are easy to move around if we want to change the shelf height).
