howeas 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 Hi all, have a question on Aircon installation. Currently, my house has 2 air-con with 1 compressor. Recently, my friend change all his aircon and he has an aircon to spare (without compressor). As one of my room does not have air con, i was thinking asking the aircon from him and installed with my existing compressor? Can anyone advise whehter my idea is workable? thanks.... firehorse 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 Nope!!! i was thinking.. his idea is not entirely unworkable, BUT - warranty issue the warranty is normally attached to the outdoor unit ( i think ) and it's accompanying indoor units that are first installed with it. so the warranty will not cover this new indoor unit. and if anything spoils, i wonder who is he going to call for servicing... - working kW need to calculate whether the existing outdoor unit can support the new total kW required when this additional indoor unit is connected to it. in short, it's freaking troublesome, imo!
