Bunnymummy 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Hi, interested to know from those who have purchased how's the carpets from Luxe blog? Can the fibers be easily pulled out? Especially the ones with the silver or gold threads. Thanks!
mabaricows 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2011 ..Today we finally found what we wanted from this carpet store in marina square <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. Think the store name is Sundis. On 2nd floor, very near barang barang. The owner was VERY helpful! He kept flipping the carpets for us to see, and he wasn't at all impatient with us as we (my husband and I) had length debates and discussions on which carpet to buy. The best is, we were not happy with the 1st carpet we bought and he allowed us to exchange for another. He even told me to go back again if I'm still not happy with the 2nd carpet, says the important thing is I'm happy. Such a nice man. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />What's interesting is, we ended up picking a Persian carpet. When we first started looking for a carpet, my husband and I ruled out Persian carpets cause we thought they were old-fashioned. But the Persian carpets at Sundis are really pretty and the owner was very patient to show us the carpets, that's how we ended up with a Persian.Went to Marina Square and Sundis today for some carpet hunting, we were thinking of putting a large carpet under our dining table to demarcate it as a separate area in the living room.Spoke to an uncle called Sia, he was very very nice!We told him upfront that we weren't planning to buy anything today as our furniture isn't in yet and its tough visualising which carpet looks best without everything in place. We totally didn't expect him to be as kind and helpful as he turned out to be. He unrolled many many carpets to show us the different designs, explained to us carpet maintenance and different carpet types. He tried to help us choose a design based on our floor and furniture color (we showed him our stuff on our handphones). He also showed us all the different designs he had using his laptop. It was a really good experience, we learnt quite a bit about carpets from him and we will probably go back and purchase our carpets from him. Instead of hunting for cheaper sources, we feel that we should instead buy from a helpful and sincere seller. Our 2 cents worth la.
