our target budget is 20k, i know its a bit too low, thats why we had to limit the extent of the renovation.

i find your masonry works a little bit ex here. your homo tiles added in total is $6k something. why not get your contractor to give a lump sum instead of quoting bit by bit? is your homo tiles 600 x 600, the big piece types?

For plumbing items as below, no need to take his package. there are far cheaper versions available in Poh Joo, you can go and buy yourself too.

1 no toilet bowl $350

-1 set wash basin & tap $150

-1 no water heater $220

-1 set bathroom accesories $100

What about clearing of debris and haulage, applying for permit, he should give FOC meh. Your installation of the electrical items also, a little bit higher. what you can do, is to take another quote for electrical items directly from another electrical contractor, in that way, you can make comparisons.

quite a good quote to be honest...mine cost almost 30k and without so much carpentry...

the only thing u need to note is electricity is still not full charge yet...usually ard 1.5 - 2K.

my other comment is your tv facing not ideal...it will be very glaring from the sun (during the day) and from the corridor lights at night....my mum's house is also corridor unit like yours..

Hi~

Are you doing an island kitchen? Spacewise looks abit tight for island. I think if the cabinet doors are casement, the passageway will be block??

hi rawr,

yeah im thinking of having an island but not a fixed maybe just a normal table with shelvings. then the cabinets on the right side will be top cabinet suspended on the wall.

Ohh! I always love island kitchen but too bad my place too small for it >.<

Or maybe you can get it on wheels~ then if you need more space you can push it against the wall under the right side top cabinets?

you can do it like mine. add castor wheels to a normal table. i bought 2 tables. one as an island and the other as dining. when i entertain, i push both tables together and make a long table for 10.
