Hope I can find guidance here as we do our first house. We wanted to renovate our whole house but got problem with the budget, so we've been trying to cut the renovation coverage. Pinklady 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2009 i find your masonry works a little bit ex here. your homo tiles added in total is $6k something. why not get your contractor to give a lump sum instead of quoting bit by bit? is your homo tiles 600 x 600, the big piece types? For plumbing items as below, no need to take his package. there are far cheaper versions available in Poh Joo, you can go and buy yourself too. 1 no toilet bowl $350 -1 set wash basin & tap $150 -1 no water heater $220 -1 set bathroom accesories $100 What about clearing of debris and haulage, applying for permit, he should give FOC meh. Your installation of the electrical items also, a little bit higher. what you can do, is to take another quote for electrical items directly from another electrical contractor, in that way, you can make comparisons. Ripples 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) hi rawr, yeah im thinking of having an island but not a fixed maybe just a normal table with shelvings. then the cabinets on the right side will be top cabinet suspended on the wall. you can do it like mine. add castor wheels to a normal table. i bought 2 tables. one as an island and the other as dining. when i entertain, i push both tables together and make a long table for 10.
