red_devil 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2009 Hi coolerpod, I am refering to wallpaper instead of sticker. Best regards. Hi Samsontok, I chat with some wallpaper suppliers before. Hmm...it is not advisable to do it yourself. There are some considerations. 1. Wall have to be smooth...If not, you might need to plaster, air it, paint a white coat of paint (*they have a term for it...can't remember*). Air it...before applying the wallpaper. - hard - depending on your wall condition. 2. Matching the pattern of the wallpaper if there are running patterns. - medium skill 3. You will have to measure your wall also...in order to determine how many rolls u need. This should be easy. 4. Glue use is important...although I do not know the difference either...which is good glue or bad. 5. depending on the shape of your wall..if is flat..is much more easy...but if there is beam on the top or left/right...and u intend to cover the beams with wallpaper also..then... I think u need to tactically match them and also hide the edge of the adjoining paper. - tough. Hmm...u still can DIY. Get the correct glue...perhaps, goodrich? perhaps they sell? just paste it. Is just that whether u want to take the risk. :-)

fierydragon 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 The easiest wall paper to stick on is the vinyl ones with adhesive on the back already. The trick is to spray a little soapy water on to the smooth surface and peel off the protective paper at the back and paste it on the target surface. If for any reasons like misalignment or air bubbles, slide the wall paper straight and use a credit card to push out all the air bubbles. When the soap solution dries, Voila, it"s done to perfection. I did mine this way, and the finishing looks pretty professional.

The vinyl is about 4' (cant remember exact dimension) and it is quite challenging initially. Now quite good at it... I didnt apply the soap solution, may be I should try next time.. Thanks for the tips. BTW the vinyl is not cheap. I paid about $8 for 4' (?) x 1M
fierydragon 1 Report post Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) where did you get the wallpaper? how much is it? At a hardware shop in 18 Marsilling Lane. #01-257. Actually, it is not difficult to find, as it is a big hardware shop situated at the ground floor at the entrance to the car park. I bought only about 3/4 roll as I only needed to do a small wall. It cost me about $65. The shop 's name is Yong Teck Hardware and the tel is 63675519 Edited June 2, 2010 by fierydragon
