yoongf 11 Report post Posted August 9, 2009 http://www.chianglenghup.com/eCate/ProdList.aspx?CateID=17 That is called blockwood, which is basically plywood sandwiching blocks of wood, trying to be similar to solid wood. If got gaps between the blocks.. not so good lor. (See the pix in link .. very tightly spaced)
beany0811 1 Report post Posted August 9, 2009 hi, thanks for the link. i think the nearest match is laminboard instead. http://www.chianglenghup.com/eCate/ProdDetail.aspx?ID=84 so is laminboard considered plywood?

Any advice on what plywood is good for kitchen cos i m also renovating my kitchen soon The picture shown above is blockwood. It is normally used for shelving or doors because of its weight. You can't possibly want to spend much strength opening or carrying heavy shelves or doors right? It is technically alright to use blockwood unless you are referring to the bodies(carcass) of cabinets which should be in plywood. For cabinet carcasses, contractors should use plywood because of its strength as they are pieces of wood laminated together.
