ossify 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) oops, didn't see that. paiseh. thanks~ oh i didn't answer your first question. it can fit as many sockets as you can fit in. typically 1m can fit 16 sockets. hi, saw in your earlier post that you sprayed acrylic paint to your kitchen/toilet cabinets for water proofing. can you enlighten me on what is acrylic paint, where to purchase it, how much and how long will the protection from water lasts? thanks. it's like spray paint, except that it's clear. can purchase from anywhere. prices range from $3-6. it will last for as long as you don't scratch/wear it off. i didn't spray my toilet cabinets as they are fully laminated. i sprayed the back and the cut parts of my kitchen cabinets. you're getting ikea too? wow, your first post is on my t-blog Edited February 4, 2010 by ossify

By the way, for mounting of TV, it usually mount by the tv delivery guy. Edited February 4, 2010 by Rasp
ossify 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Hi Ossify, Your total reno bill of $13,497.21, does it including the flooring (laminates), power plugs (eubiq), doors (swing & bi-fold) and carpentry (kitchen cabinet, wardrobe, tv console, toilet cabinet, etc)? By the way, for mounting of TV, it usually mount by the tv delivery guy. it doesn't include the toys like eubiq. as my carpentry (kitchen cabinet, wardrobe,tv console, toilet cabinet) are all from ikea, it's also not included. but i did include some of it in my signature. i haven't updated much on the kitchen cabinet and wardrobe, i'll remember to do so next time when i have finished purchasing all the accessories for them. my wardrobe is technically not complete because i haven't gotten the mirror doors yet (out of stock) and my kitchen is technically not complete yet because I need to add more cabinet panels and plinths for aesthetics purpose. i didn't include my laminates because the price is not confirmed yet (i haven't paid) but i intend to include it once i confirm it. it includes the doors (swing and bi-fold). it's under one of the items listed in my price equation generally, i will consider all works that are normally done by contractor as part of the reno bill (eg. flooring, doors) but things that i buy off the shelf (ikea furniture, eubiq, electrical items) i will not include. my rough estimate for the whole house stands at $25k, inclusive of electricals and furnishings. my furnishings cost almost as much as my reno as for the TV delivery guy, that would be me so i guess i would have to mount it update: the delivery guys came today morning! annjoy 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Hey Ossify, wow I didnt come for awhile and your bill went past $10K already! Everytime I came to you t-blog last time, the bill was always $5K + hehehe I'll be interested to know how much you spend on all your renovation works + any carpentry (when your prices are all confirmed) - things that would normally be included in a typical ID quote. It'll be great to know if DIY is cheaper than getting an ID to coordinate! Btw, what did you buy from vhive? You mentioned cushion storage? What's that? I actually thinking of buying my MBR wardrobe from vHIVE instead of getting my ID to custom make. CHEAPER + vHIVE looks quite good quality leh! I can bring it with me too when I move! ossify 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 wow ossify, your white V6 is upz. Looks good. Think I'll wait for one. So which one u think is nicer? black or white? both are nice depends on your colour scheme. my bedroom has many blacks (wardrobe, bed) so black would be more suitable my living area is mainly white so white would be more suitable. but now, alpha v6 black or white also out of stock maybe you can get from malaysia

ossify 1 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Day 45 Movers came today and mio came today to install my equipment movers moved all the items into my living room. not much items to move, only 18 boxes, 1 bed, 1 sofa, 1 jigsaw, 1 glass table top assembly of bed in mbr mbr done up! messy kitchen, for now tv wired up to mio and dell mini hd zino (on imageshack) Total cost for the day's work: $0 Hacking 50ft walls and clearing of debris: $1000 Accumulated cost for labour: $5500 (including clearing of debris) Accumulated cost for raw materials: $2340.21 Plumbing: $880 Electrical: $2000 (remaining $100 for 2 ceiling fans) Shower glassworks: $1050 Door works: $727 Total reno bill as of now: $8840.21+880+2000+1050+728 = $13497.21 movers moved everything, started at 8.30am, finished at 1.30pm. paid them $180 as agreed initially. they tried to raise up to $300 but we didn't budge on the price. guess this is a common practice. pretty good experience, except that there was a small dent in my laminate, near the main door. immediately wiped it down and sprayed clear acrylic for waterproofing. mio installers didn't know how to wall mount my tv so i had to do it. made a mistake and made it too high, so i have to make another 2 holes must remember to patch up the 2 holes i made. tv's up and connected to mio and pc. using tv as monitor. bought a hdmi auto switcher so i can plug in up to 4 equipment into my tv (but of course, only 1 at any 1 time) wa yr toilet beri nice. Yr vanity top is from ikea? thanks ya basin and basin cabinet all from ikea. basin $169, cabinet $100. Edited February 6, 2010 by ossify
