Is This Kitchen Quote Too Expensive?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This is my first home so I need help to see if this open concept kitchen quote is ok.

1 Supply labour to hack away L-shaped wall as on plan (Subjected to HDB's $900.00

approval) exclude PE endorsement if required.

2 Haulage of materials, sand and cement plus clear all concrete debris to (Depend on town council)

ENV Dumping ground.

3 Supply labour and materials to make good plus patched up affected wall $1,000.00

and floor tiles after hacking of walls.

4 Supply and construct both sides cabinet concrete base. (Sink and cooker) $500.00

5 Supply and construct fridge concrete base c/w matching tile finished. $80.00

6 Supply and lay inlet and drainage water pipes to new sink area. $150.00

7 Supply and construct counter cabinets for sink (11 feet length) in selected $2,800.00

laminate finished c/w 7 long Blum drawer system and 2 short Blum drawer

system.

8 Supply and construct low cooker cabinets (4 feet length) in selected $700.00

laminate finished c/w 2 long Blum drawer system.

9 Supply and install selected LG solid surface worktop to the above mentioned $1,800.00

cabinets. (15 feet length)

10 Supply and install white painted glass backing above cooker cabinet. $280.00

12 Supply labour to install kitchen c/w connection. (Sink and tap by owner) $80.00

Note:

1. The total length of the wall hacked is around 5.5m . The contractor explained that the total price of 1.9k is the maximum that I will have to pay just in case there are wires or pipes. Is it still expensive?

2. The drawers are with Blum Tandem System but the drawers are still wooden (built by the contractor).

Thanks all!! :D

hi! i'm a reno newbie myself..but i think your hacking cost is very ex! see ossify's blog - he paid only $1k for his hacking of 52 ft wall (works out to be about 15.8 m), compared to your quote of $1.9k for 5.5 m.
