Got Any Idea For Altar?

Recommended Posts

I want to do an ALtar **** Room, but I don't want to go for those traditional cabinet because the ex owner got a nice feature wall covering the bomb shelter, so still cracking my brain for a design. Anyone did an altar at home? I just need a small one, maybe a hanging one is good too.

Depending on your beliefs, a hanging one may/may not be suitable (Some elders told me that its no good for altars with no "legs")

I got mine at Cellini, made of rubber wood I think. There is also a teak furniture shop along Upper Serangoon Road that has these.

Do you have any picture to share? Oh I think your belief about no legs may be right. Saw one in Squreroom, pretty nice.

saw one here from an article in RT forum which I think its quite cool. 1 of my friend also did his 'modern' altar in a similar way.

u can still use the bottom area as storage :)

I need to install a small altar also for my ancestral.... looking for those small one, wall mount, but need to have a 'roof' kind so that the smoke doesn't goes to the ceiling and after some time a layer of 'soot' formed. Very difficult to wash clean.

Anyone got any idea or recommendation where to get a modern looking altar?

Cheers!

i bought my altar in bugis. They custom-made a white altar for a customer and still has stock. It's simple, clean cut, and the drawers and cabinets are without handles (more trendy). But the seller actually said that white is hard to maintain, cuz they sprayed white paint. Once scratched or stained, hard to remove. Mine's walnut (almost black) with lines in glossy finish.

i saw from magazine an unit with the white altar like a cube suspended from the wall (built-in). And there's lights on top. Very nice! Looks more like display though.
