Tiles Selection Before Perspective Drawings?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new here.. Thanks for reading this post.

My ID is asking me to choose tiles but I have not yet seen any perspective drawings yet.. is this the normal procedure?

I wonder how am I suppose to visualise the general look of my house just by looking at sample tiles in a shop. Thought I should first choose the drawings and then buy tiles according to the look my ID propose?

Thanks for helping all.. appreciate your comments.. :)

perspective drawings is different from 3D drawing..most of the time when ID say perspective drawings it means it is hand drawn.

I also choose my tiles and even select my colour and lamination before getting the see the perspective drawings.. depends on how particular you are.. I seen the B/W copy of the drawing..has an idea how my house will look like then choose all the tiles and colour after that then i get to see the full colour version.

Normally ur ID will assist you in the selection.. so cannot go too wrong...unless you totally dont like what your ID propose

If you go to the tile shop at Toh Guan, there is a big showroom on the second floor. You can go around and see what concept you like then ask your id to help you choose identical tiles. In this way you know how the combination will be like.

My ID also brought me to choose tiles before any drawings. She said we choose the tiles, from the colours, we can work on wall paint/cabinet colours.

Gonna choose the wall paints and cabinet colours this weekend. So, the drawings had better be ready by then! :D

For the more expensive ID, you get to see the concept, design and 3D diagrams before anything. From the 3D diagrams you can finetune what you want (colours, design etc) before you get on to the actual selection of tiles, paint colours, laminate, etc etc. Example of ID film that does this: RestzRelax

For the majority of us who is on low budget and choose the ID that quoted us the lowest, 3D diagrams seem to be a rare thing. Yes, you might get one of two - but the idea is to supplement the whole renovation experience rather than having it as a guiding plan for the renovation.

For my case, I get to see 3D diagrams for my kitchen and masterbedroom, perspective drawing of kitchen, masterbedroom, study room, and living room. Now chasing for the 3D diagrams for our shoe cabinet and console/feature wall.
