BunBun 5 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) Angel81, the milo doggies are familiar, i saw 2 variations of this, 1 of them is milo, the other is horlicks. I did the doggies cookies before last year but using ovaltine as substitute cos I don't take milo or horlicks. But doing the creation of the doggie faces is a little taxing though cos got to position properly But I like your egg tarts and choc dipped dropped cookies. Yummy. Can share your recipes? *grins* Edited August 4, 2009 by BunBun
familyof4 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 Angel! I also baked the doggie cookies before! Mine was horlicks and my cousins and gal devour the cookies in less than an hour! Here's the recipe that I used Ingredients: (makes about 48 cookies) 180g butter, soften at room temperature 80g Horlicks (original flavour) 200g top flour or cake flour 25g corn flour 25g milk powder 100g chocolate chips some chocolate rice some Koko Krunch Method: 1.Pre-heat oven to 140deg C. Line baking tray with baking paper and set aside. 2.Sieve top flour, corn flour and milk powder. 3.Cream butter and Horlicks for about three minutes at low speed. Do not overbeat. 4.Put in top flour, cornflour and milk powder and beat for about one minute to form dough. 5.Divide dough into 10g each. Put three chocolate chips into each piece of dough and roll into balls. 6.Insert two pieces of Koko Krunch to form the 'ears', chocolate rice for the "eyes", and a chocolate chip in the centre for the 'nose'. 7.Bake at 140 deg C for about 25 minutes. Depending on your oven, it may take another 5 to 10 minutes more for the cookies to be ready. 8.Leave to cool on wire rack before storing in an airtight container. Angel81 1 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) wow!!!!! Angel, u're another baking queen. Recipe to share for the above? Haha, I not baking queen lar. hehehe.. Still learning how to do lots of stuff. wow!look nice wow!!!! Hehe, thanks! Angel81, the milo doggies are familiar, i saw 2 variations of this, 1 of them is milo, the other is horlicks. I did the doggies cookies before last year but using ovaltine as substitute cos I don't take milo or horlicks. Can share your recipes? *grins* Hehe, yeah, got the recipe from online. They were sooo cute that I knew I had to make them. hehehehe... Yah loh, tiring to position the chips to make faces. hehe.. did different expressions at first, then got tired and just did the same ones in the end. Egg Tart Recipe (shared with me by Ivy & F4) Choc Dipped Drop Cookies Recipe 250g all-purpose flour 150g butter, room temperature 100g icing sugar pinch of salt vanilla extract 1 egg (approx. 50g) some chocolate, melted 1. Preheat oven to 200°C. 2. Prepare a baking sheet with baking paper. 3. Sift the flour in a medium bowl and set aside. 4. Cream together the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla in a large mixing bowl till texture is light and fluffy. 5. Add in the egg and cream till well-distributed. 6. Add in the sifted flour and mix well. 7. Scoop small scoops of dough on the baking sheet. Can also use a piping bag to pipe nice rosettes/shapes. 8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are golden brown in colour. 9. Transfer the cookies to cool on wire rack. 10. Melt some chocolate over a double-boiler. 11. Dip the end of the cooled cookies into the melted chocolate (I find it easier to just spoon some choc onto the cookies). Then leave them on baking paper till chocolate has cooled before serving or keeping in airtight containers. Yield : 32 cookies Angel! I also baked the doggie cookies before! Mine was horlicks and my cousins and gal devour the cookies in less than an hour! Here's the recipe that I used Yah!! I gave some to my neighbours and they devoured it very quickly! hehehe, then one of the kids came over to ask mi to make more next time. hahahaha.. There was a couple of the doggies that looked super cute, and I couldn't bear to eat them. Hehe.. U used HHB's recipe rite? Tink we used the same one, just tat I used Milo instead of Horlicks. Hi Angle81 I am super impress with the chicken. It looks absolutely delicious and professional....Can I ask for the recipe and cooking instructions from you? I am an amateur in cooking....thanks in advance! Harlow harlow! Thanks for the compliment! It's actually super easy to do it. Here's how I did it: 1. Cut some slits along the chicken pieces. Marinate the chicken pieces (I used thigh & drumstick) with McCormick's Honey Mustard Sauce (comes in a bottle) for at least 4hours. 2. Cut potatoes and carrots and drizzle/mix with olive oil, salt, pepper and parsley flakes. 3. In a separate bowl, mix asparagus, onions & bacon with olive oil, salt & pepper. (can do this just before u need to use them, & reuse the potatoes/carrots bowl to minimize washing) 4. Place chicken pieces in middle of oven save deep dish and surround with the potatoes & carrots. 5. Bake at pre-heated oven at 220 degs (210degs for fan forced) for 1/2 hour. 6. Take out the dish, stir the carrots/potatoes to coat with gravy at the bottom of the dish, and scatter the asparagus, onions and bacon on it. 7. Return to oven for about 10-15 mins. Done. Didn't use recipe for this, everything just agar-agar (estimate or eyeball it). If u like, u can brown the chicken by frying it first before baking. But I find that there's no need to do it. U can try the same recipe with other marinates as well. Just be generous with the marinate. hehehe PS: bacon taste better than turkey bacon for this dish. PPS: use those fat asparagus instead of those thin thai asparagus. Have fun! Edited August 6, 2009 by Angel81

Angel81 1 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks Angel81 for your recipe. Although I am super lousy when it comes to estimating the proportions for ingredients (always cook too much or too little ) but I shall give the baked honey mustard chicken a try...beh tahan as it looks super tempting and super delicious....!!!! Haha! Same here! But I always tell my hb tat it's beta to have more than less. Eat full full beta than still hungry. For this recipe, I had 1 chic piece for myself and 2 for hubby, 3 potatoes and 2 carrots, 4 rashes of bacon (cut into about 2cm slices), 4-5 stalks of asparagus each, 1 large onion. Hope it helps. And rem to save some room for dessert!
