U can terminate the contact but they will forfeit your deposit. Check with your agent if engaged one. If the owner still refuses to cancel, you can take legal action. Pinklady 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 i dun think you can break the contract. the owner got the right to forfeit your deposit. like what looneygas has said, if you can sit down nicely and ask the owner, if you get him a replacement to replace you, he can dun forfeit? becoz when you sign on the rental agreement, does it clearly states that? if not, you can get back.
