Closetrobe Or Seng Kwong

Recommended Posts

I'm doing a walk-in wardrobe with aluminium sliding doors, so I got quotes from these 2 companies.

Has anyone used them before? Can share your experiences / workmanship?

I decided to go for Seng Kwong cos both quotes for 13 ft WIW with aluminium sliding doors are approx 3k. ClosetRobe was slightly cheaper and they gave a FOC mirror...not going into the rest of the details else I gotta write grandfather story...LOL

But the key difference lies in the material of the wood used. Seng Kwong used solid plywood with walnut laminates whereas ClosetRobe used compressed wood with those normal white PVC. I then asked ClosetRobe for a revised quote based on solid ply and it was much higher than 3k. Furthermore, I wanted walnut colour and ClosetRobe said they charged more for laminates so end up the price was alot higher than the original!

Wah...I immed made up my mind to take Seng Kwong. LOL

So I guess the most impt thing is to check the material used and what exactly you want. I guess some ppl dun mind using compressed wood so might as well get the cheaper one. Btw, both come with 10 yr warranties agst workmanship e.g. delamination, warping...

Not the two companies you are asking, but for ClosetDesign and Alumix, they both use compressed wood with laminate finishing. But don't know what grades they are using. For my WIW, L shape, about 14 feet total length, Alumix quoted me about 1k less than ClosetDesign. Of course, with that difference, there must be some plus points for ClosetDesign. ClosetDesign pull-out mirror can be rotated 360 degrees, Alumix no. ClosetDesign has full pull-out drawers, Alumix no. And ClosetDesign has softclosing drawers, Alumix no.

I make a choice between ClosetRobe and Closet Design .

I went to Closet Design cos they are cheaper in term of L shape wardrobe (the minus 1 feet i think)

As 1 of the door is use to hide the toilet door (refer to my T-blog for more pic) They even minus $250 for me ( don't know how they count also lah)

Both look similar to me .

Regards

Simon
