lexcess 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 Hi All, I am presently shopping around for an ID for my 114 sqm apartment. It's been substantially renovated by the previous owners just end of last year and I'm only looking to personalise and improve some things around the place. I've been quoted $8K.5 for the improvement which sounds like an enormous sum for an improvement projects. Suspect that I've been "tok". But I wanted to confirm it with the resident experts here. I've extracted the items that I thought were ridiculously priced from the quotation for your reference. No specifics of what I prefer and no pictures had been shown prior to the quotation. Appreciate any constructive comments to make a decison. (for Living area) Custom-made & install shoe cabinet with laminate, ABS edging, come with casement doors and shelving (W:1m, D:0.3m, H:2.6m) $800 (1 unit) Custom-made & install dining table finished with laminate, wood molding (W:1.2m, D:0.8m, H:762m) $980 (1 unit) (for master bedroom) Custom-made & install dresser finished with laminate, ABS edging, come with drawers, casement door, 2 pcs of mirror Dresser (W:0.9m, D:0.5m, H:0.7m to 2.6m) Mirror (W:0.9m, H:1.2m), (W:0.9m, H:2m) $2,030 (1 unit) I am also being charged $2,540 for a 2.5m (0.2m height) TV console (W:2.5m, H:0.2m), cabinet (W:0.8m, D:0.1m, H:1.4m) and TV panel (W:1.2m, D:0.1m, H:1.2m) for the living room and $2,140 for the storage (W:2m, D:0.4m, H:1.8m) and TV panel (W:1.2m, D:0.1m, H:1m) for the bedroom. I thought she was actually quite brave to hand me the quotation with a straight face cos I nearly fel off my chair when she told me the price. I can't get my head around paying $8.5K for two TV panels (storage and cabinet notwithstanding), a dresser with a mirror, a shoe cabinet and a dining table. Is this the market price? Appreciate your comments please!
charemme 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 i think i would have fell off the chair too... im not experienced, but based on the few quotation that i have and some already shelved it away cuz its way over my budget i was quoted 1) $1100 for a 3m suspended Tv console. even if i ask for a full height tv console with rotating feature , it would be $1900 2) $1080 for a 6FT walk-in wardrobe ; your dresser is double the price of my walk-in 3) Shoe cabinet maybe acceptable, i was quoted $390 for a 3FT Dining table, $980 for a 1.2m.. with that price i can buy a 1.7m 6 seater at the furniture store hmm, maybe u can try blanco the price and send it to another ID, ask them to quote u the same things u will be able to know if that is the 'standard'
