Looking For A Job Whilst Pregnant

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I'm really curious if there is anyone out there who has successfully snagged a job whilst preggers?

I was working for my company for almost 13years but had to resign in April due to pregnancy... So I have been trying to look for a suitable job for the past month... Did not do so earlier coz my first 3 months were totally exhausting and I was busy with the house reno, and now the boredom has set in.

wld like to know if there are any tips I can follow, the do's and don't's when going for interviews. I went for one interview, but the moment I mentioned PREGNANT, their faces changed.....

So any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

NOPE. that is the truth. Once you tell companies you are pregnant , they will reject you immediately.

Unless you telll them you do not mind PT jobs and u also dont want the maternity bonus given to u.

I started giving private home tuition after I found out that I was pregnant and resigned from my previous job.

It's a very flexible 'job' and a great way to kill your boredom and exercise your brain cells.

In between giving tuitions, I go shopping, yoga or spend time at the library reading books on pregnancy and parenthood..;)

i have a friend who managed to get a job when she was pregnant. the company wasn't perturbed by the fact that she was pregnant at all, which i think was nice.. although sad to say, she lost her baby already....

but most companies wouldn't think of hiring if you are pregnant.. they can't be training your for a couple of months and you have to take maternity leave for another couple of months, it's not cost efficient in business perspective.
