KelvinNg 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2009 I saw homefix selling cement (white/black), putty and cornice powder. Please shed some light on the differences betweeb these. I have the idea that all three are the same and can be used interchangeably for tiles grouting, filling up gaps on aircon pipings, and holes on wall and false ceilings. hihihi 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2009 the chemical composition is slightly different which determines their toughness, though they looked the same. If dedicated gouting powder is used, it'll be more resistant to water + wear and tear. Imagine u use plaster powder for gouting, it'll be eroded away very fast. Alot of pple simply use white cement for gouting, it's ok, but it's not the optimium solution.

I suppose cornice is stronger from your advice? Putty is for filling holes in wall? Cement also can? For aircon piping gaps, use which type? Where can i get the grouting powder? Any place sells this 3M grouting protector? Cant find it anywhere. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_U...rout-Protector/
