Recommended Posts

Hi,

Like to check with you guys - when do you turn on water and electricity for your flat?

Do you do it before the renovation or after the renovation?

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

the first thing renovation does is to do hacking (if any), or tiling... eh... water and electricity are of coz needed. PUB needs time to activate those stuffs also. ~ 1 to 2 week b4 will be enuff.

before reno...costhe contractor will need it?

I ap;ly mine ytd at hdb hub and it done today...wahahaha.:P

I worry if we turn on the electricity too early, the workers may decide to turn on the air-con while they are doing their work!

Went to see a house doing renovation today, the owner did not turn on the electricity so the workers basically powered off their tools using a portable generator.

I had the same concern last time.

But they need electricity/water for working.

You can consider wrapping up the air con with plastic sheets.

If they on it while working, the air con filter will suffer, end up absorbing all the dust.

This is solely for their convenience, electrical, water, toilet bowl.

I even installed a hand spray so that they can use. But they didn't turn off the mains after using and left it on the floor after using, all scratched, pipe burst and my laminated flooring all wet ... I removed it the following day.

Hi Lawry,

This is a very good and practical tip. I will wrap up the air with plastic sheets and take away the remote controls. Hopefully that will deter them from using the air-con.

Hi,

Water and electrical supply is needed before renovation starts...the workers need electricity for their power tools and water to clean up.....if you are concerned about the aircon, take out the fuse from the plug, or just cut off the plug from the aircon supply cord. That's what I did. :D
