Hi All,

Does anyone have any "lobang" on where to get designer trunkings for electrical and pipings.

I'm getting an old re-sale flat and the only solution that i keep hearing from IDs is that there are

no better way to conceal electrical cables besides the current conventional trunking.

When i google .. i see quite a bit of nicely design electrical trunking ... but are mainly from the

manufacturer. Saw one "arc shape with wooden texture" ... looks really cool.

Anyone knows any place that sells these kinding of trunking?

San

Here's a plain white arc-shape sample.

Here's one from D-Link (UK)

I was kinda of puzzle that in this day and age, the only choice that we have are squared "old-school"

trunking ... :).

Anyway, i'm trying to source them if its available in S'pore ... and understand the pricing so that I

won't get screwed by the contractor when i talk to them ... hehehe.

These arc shape trucking are very common in Singapore, go any DIY shop (maybe those in defu) you can find. Or go to one shop near Lavender Food Square, opposite there the shophouse, they are selling all electrical stuffs for contractors

I was told before that HDB will only allow the 'old school' boxy type of trunking. Not sure how true is this nowdays.

Anyone knows?

trunking in a pain. I would prefer a broader but less thick trucking..rather than the box shape one commonly used

Agree. Bergkamp, I see that you just started your renovation. Any solutions for the ugly trunking to share?

Btw, you're a Dutch football fan? :)

Only real solution is to do L Box/false ceiling. :dunno:

But if you cant do that like me...due to a "slanting ceiling".....I just used the plainest/flattest trunking they had to offer. A bit wide but less deep trunking is better than slimmer+deeper one.

What makes a trunking more obvious is the shadow it creates. If it is not so thick and the light falling on it is even from both sides, the trunking shouldnt be obvious to the eye.

So the placement of lights is also important.

I have got these two big and flat ceiling lights for my living room.

1- they provide more even light for the room

2 - They cover a lot of trunking behind them

Well thats the theory I am working on. You can check if the end product is anything like what I want, in my blog. Will post the final pics after 2 more weeks.
