Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and I would like to seek some suggestions on how to turn the space beneath the spiral staircase into a mini storeroom. My new 2-room apt doesn't come with any storeroom at all. Because of the budget constraint, I was thinking of using string curtains to hide the clutter beneath but my ID suggest boxing it up. But that would defeat the purpose of the gaps between the steps. And I'm doing up my house more on the oriental theme, so I would like some suggestions on how to hide the clutter with the minimal budget. Thanks.

Hi Hi :)

IMHO, if u want to hv gaps betw the steps, then u shouldn't cluster tt space underneath. else u will b defeating the purpose. I may b wrong. just my feeling only.

I feel ur ID suggestion is good. box up is neater & hopefully less dusty. U could hv an oriental-style door to stick to ur theme.

Thanks rd :) .The contractor told me if I box up the area below the stairs. I might have to box up the gaps between the steps (maybe 5-6 steps) to prevent the dust from going in. But half boxed up stairs, wouldn't it look funny? The wood panel door you show me is nice but wouldn't the holes allow dust to go in as well?
