forkie 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 I think the kitchen looks fantastic!! and I love the glass cabinet hehee.. though ya probably right that it'll be hard to clean...but it looks very nice~ hee I agree not only looks nice but will not block the light from kitchen window to dining area. Very good idea and somewhat not very practical leh. The smoke, dust, oil will coat the glass and stainless steel.... After maybe 6mths or longer it might look like a disaster if no frequent maintenece ! That is my major concern as my wife and I um...... Lets say we are not those love to clean type pple -_____-;
Reiki 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 How about do away with it and save the cost there? Though it is aesthetically nice, it does not serve a purpose. You are right, in the long run, without a good maintenance, it will be more of a chore. Plus, the design will leave you with a 'dead' top side cabinet where the class is. I like your ID's idea, could be yours too, to have the ledge to prevent the MBR wardrobe to cover the window. It will, definitely, bring in more light since the wardrobe will not be smacked and 'steal' part of the windows.
ivy 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 ohh the 3Ds are nice. Like what Reiki says, you may wanna consider just not doing it. However if you want dish rack, there are also those that can be suspended from the ceiling, just like the cabinet. The only concern is dust lor and you will still need to clean it periodically. Guest poetsdesign Report post Posted June 1, 2009 wow... Forkie, I like your house.. Very nice and comfortable, Btw do you design by yourself all the model?
Pinklady 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 i like your 3D pics especially the MBR big big wardrobe. i always love big wardrobes, so much space for putting clothes! kekeke. but i noticed from the entrance to the Living Rm, TV Feature wall, there are a lot of 'wood' like elements. you are aiming for a rustic woody feeling to your home? I'm still very concern on maintenance wise actually. Thought thinking of taking it out, it kind leave a big space where i duno what to do with it. A hanging dish rack ? But hang all the way from ceiling ? I heard that from 1 of the ID who comment not feasible putting wardrobe so close to the window. Thus that stuck me hard and we brainstorm a solution out with having a ledge over to widen the distance of the window and wardrobe. ohh the 3Ds are nice. I'm actually quite concern to hang all the way down will it look weird or stable ornot. wow... Forkie, I like your house.. Very nice and comfortable, Btw do you design by yourself all the model? Ahahaha ! i wish i can and i dont need pay so much $$$ My ID came out with the concept after i gave her my preference of the layout. i like your 3D pics especially the MBR big big wardrobe. i always love big wardrobes, so much space for putting clothes! kekeke. but i noticed from the entrance to the Living Rm, TV Feature wall, there are a lot of 'wood' like elements. you are aiming for a rustic woody feeling to your home? I'm hoping the Wardrobe will be big. But maybe only 7ft due to space constrain Unless i move it close to the window but then.... block my ventilation haizzz.... The wood wood stuff is not my preference. My ID seems to like wood grain alot thus propose the idea. The doors seems kinda match the feature wall so I quite ok with the designs currently. Have to see the wood before i confirm with my ID on the design.

The Shower area should have 2 strips of Black tiles at the sides and the diagonal tile in center as feature. Rest of Wall tiles will be light beige wall tiles with horizontal lines. Floor tiles will be textured darker beige tiles with black speckles. However my wife dont really fancy that. She kinda prefer black n white toilet.

Very true that the glass display will become sth that needs to be cleaned all the time. Agree with the rest to do away with it. As for the dish rack, how about using part of the nearest cabinet for ur dishrack? Then the design will look sth like the cabinets above the hood. Another view. Maybe ur can compromise by changing the floor tiles to black with little sparkles? That way, she'll get more black in the toilet, and the black will match the 2 black strips.
