sohck 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 Tiling are done ! Just need some minor touch up on some areas ! Still have no chance check the tiles coz the floor are covered with sheets of cardboard for protection. Currently doing false wall on ceilings and electric wiring. Laminate flooring Pergo will be coming tmr to install my bedrooms. Hope it does turn out well and good ^_^ Add some more pics of the tiles. Kitchen floor Washing Machine Base My wife complaining this is too small. Actually fits well for a front load, but she wana bigger 1 in case we need change a bigger WM later. The tilers can increase the tiles space but.... That stretch with kitchen cabinets, boxed up rubbish chute will not flush with WM anymore. Saded ! So it means everything is even until WM area u see a pop out of the WM haiz....... Cant fight with her on that, she is determined so oh well.... Floortrap Stainless steel trap to match my floor. But my lady dont like this as well.... The steel is not really a thick pc so in future it might dent if keep stepping on it. So she wanted to be replaced with a cheaper pvc white floor trap. I dont really like the white plastic thing so right now i am discussing with my ID if she can lower the trap and have a movable floor tile and make it a conceal trap to over it up. We are doing without the washer base so won't have the same problem....
sohck 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 Impressive. Overall your progress is so much quicker than mine. I estimate the tiler would have done half the kitchen floor by today only. Very nice. Good choice of tiles!
familyof4 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 a metal floor trap may also mean corrosion in the near future? I still pretty much prefers the pvc too...
forkie 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 master I saw ur hse pics. Very nice ! I like the lights and the carpentry all looks pretty impressive ! Hope mine turns out well too ^_^ Waste you no do your toilet tiles esp you got vanity cabinet and stuffs. I hate hdb wall tiles in kitchen/bathroom so no matter what i oso have to get rid of them :X Are the grouting in? You may want to consider having grey grouting instead of white, especially for bathroom. If not, after sometime the grouting will turn from white to orange to brown and then to black. You will have a hard time cleaning it with a toothbrush. Hmmm hmmm think they use white grouting ! Duno issit for aesthetic purpose that white look nicer I will discuss this with my ID on it thanks ! We are doing without the washer base so won't have the same problem.... Oh so your WM will sit on the floor ah. My lady dont like that idea coz she says later wash floor will wet the WM. Impressive. Overall your progress is so much quicker than mine. I estimate the tiler would have done half the kitchen floor by today only. Very nice. Good choice of tiles! My lady will be happy to hear that. These are her selection of tiles lol Mine all gana rejected She dont like my earthly colors tiles so i let her choose what she wants. My tiling took about 5-6 days for whole house excluding 3 bedrooms. Everyday about 6-7 tilers will report to work and get on with it. How long yours taking ? Ending soon ? Good choice of tiles! Actually quite true >_< Stainless steel but in long run will still be tainted with rust I believed. But but but... white pvc on the floor looks so....... =/ I hoping my conceal trap can work. At least make a movable 1 so i can take out if i ever need to wash the kitchen. My friend mms me this picture when i ask he check out for me hehehe But still bought it and maybe i ask my carpenter to cut the clock "hands" ( made of aluminum so shouldnt be tough to cut ) to the size so i can hang it up. sohck 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 Oh so your WM will sit on the floor ah. My lady dont like that idea coz she says later wash floor will wet the WM. Nowadays WMs come with legs, so washing the floor will not wet the WM. I am doing away with WM base as well as fridge base - two reasons: 1. We don't really wash floor, maybe once in 5 years LOL 2. Without the base, you are free to change to any model of WM and fridge, as long as they fit in the space. No longer have to make sure the machines fit well into the bases. My tiling took about 5-6 days for whole house excluding 3 bedrooms. Everyday about 6-7 tilers will report to work and get on with it. How long yours taking ? Ending soon ? Our tiles also chosen by my wife, including how the colour tiles should be arranged. Three cheers for the lady of the house!!! Wow you got so many tilers working for you, no wonder so fast. Everytime I dropped by my place, I only saw one tiler working, although he always said there are three more coming (but never see the three guys before). I only dropped by the house when my ID asked me to, so not very sure of the progress. When we were there on Monday, the tiler was just laying the tiles for the kitchen flooring. Both bathroom walls are half done (less the mosaic and one or two walls at the common bathroom). Will be dropping by again this Friday or Saturday to confirm the electrical point. Will take some pictures and report the progress then.

forkie 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Guy from Pergo have finished all 3 bedrooms ! Fwoah ~~~ think only take 1 - 2 days and tala ~ all done up. Skirtings is pretty nicely done up. MBR MBR flooring Bedroom2 Bedroom 2 flooring Overall we are pleased on the laminated flooring. My lady was a little disappointed on the little rounds rings on the wood all over the floor. No choice since they did not have those only linear lines wood grain and this is the closest they have.
